Miami Worldcenter Construction Update: Cranes Coming Soon

Miami Worldcenter is making progress in both construction and permitting:

  • At least one tower crane is expected to be installed at Worldcenter’s 7th Street Apartments. A 552-foot crane is projected to go up on Labor Day, September 5.
  • Production Pile work is well underway at 7th Street Apartments.
  • 7th Street has been closed to traffic in front of the site of Zom’s Luma at Miami Worldcenter apartment tower. It will eventually connect to the rest of the 7th Street pedestrian promenade.
  • Luma was approved by the UDRB this week, but one board member called the design “uninspiring,” and the board urged architect Stantec to improve the architecture, according to the Herald.
  • Worldcenter’s new high street retail was also approved by the UDRB. Total leasable retail/restaurant space goes from 760,000 square feet to 430,000, mostly by dropping the department stores.
  • 9th Street, located next to the Paramount site, has been closed and demolished. A Paseo is planned there.

9th street is now but a memory:

Yeah right, just like all the other hideous and unnecessary projects throughout downtown Miami?

Another Sarnoff scam

It was a crime for Marc Sarnoff and other city commissioners to give three streets to the scammer/promoters from Broward County. Really? Close three Downtown streets so developers can make more money?

Close streets?

Sarnoff disaster again. Payoffs?

Closing the street and disconnecting the grid is irresponsible.

They don’t care! As long as the $$$ is involved, that’s all that matters. Sad but true.

It is irresponsible. But then again, Miami has irresponsible politicians and scummy developers.

I’m sure 7th street was soooo busy that it has caused tremendous traffic and inconvenience. LOL

Oh how wonderful. So just close busy streets off to make way for another ridiculous project that will do absolutely nothing to solve the problems this city faces. Miami gets worse every year now.

I still don’t understand what their vision is. High Street Retail sounds like a phrase they invented because there really is no concept or vision of what MWC is or will become. A Pig in a Poke. Show us in totality what this area will look like in 5 years or hire a new PR guy. Who in their right mind would make an investment here.

They have a website.. Check it out.. it explains the vision.

You should hire a PR guy to do some research before posting.

Parking is actually used during Heat games and other events that take place at the AAA. Parking lots matter too. They should have just a parking garage to alleviate the areas parking needs. But no, common sense says otherwise. What a circus.

Jokes on you “someone anonymous” are you part of that circus?

Straight from their webiste
“Phase 1 of development will include the creation of 7,000 new parking spaces, giving visitors to nearby attractions a convenient place to park.”

People just like to complain without actually knowing what they’re talking about.

People complain because they have a right to do so.
