Miami First, LLC, a Worldcenter affiliate, submitted plans late last month to build an ‘outdoor vehicle storage facility’ for U-Haul.
The surface parking lot will be built at 1001 N Miami Ave, next to U-Haul’s existing facility. Nearly 50 trucks will be parked on the new lot, plans show.
A six-foot fence will surround the property, along with landscaping. The fence will provide ‘architectural interest at the pedestrian realm,’ an attorney for the developer wrote in a letter to city officials.
A vehicle storage facility is part of the Miami Worldcenter Special Area Plan which city officials already approved, according to the attorney.
