Miami Worldcenter’s Jewel Box Issued Certificate of Occupancy

The Jewel Box retail building at Miami Worldcenter has been issued a Certificate of Occupancy, according to construction manager Square Edge Inc.

Sports & Social will occupy part of the building, Worldcenter previously announced.

The entertainment complex will include around 20,000 square feet of space, with a third-level open-air restaurant overlooking the adjacent World Square public park and plaza.

Yeah..not psyched about these tenants. Sports and Social, fine, but Bowlero? Really? Couldn’t even get a Coopers Hawk or P.F. Changs or something?

What, your got a problem with bowling?

No I have a problem with incorporating two extremely similar venues in one building instead of diversifying for your audience.

It should have been Bowlmor Lanes. Bowlero will even occupy a crappy shopping center in Westchester.

Yes, the pool has been there for months on the roof, but it’s not at jewel box, it’s in the building next door.

There was supposed to have been a Bloomie’s, but instead we get a sports bar and a suburban bowling alley.

Bowling alleys have been dying for years now–if it’s still open in 2030 it’ll be a surprise. As for Bloomingdale’s being planned there, that was always a ruse–they couldn’t keep their established store at The Falls open. The Macys downtown had to close. They replaced one dying business with another.

So when will the Jewel Box officially open? mid-December? I walk by every day and it looks like it would be difficult to get it ready in a month and a half… Feb or March seems more likely.
