Most of the first phase of MiamiCentral is devoted to retail and residential space, but the office component is leasing much faster than expected. That could bode well for the second phase, a “supertower” with a large amount of office space.
TWO MIAMICENTRAL ADDS CISNEROS AND MOSS & ASSOCIATES AS OFFICE TENANTS
MIAMI, FL – May 18, 2016 – MiamiCentral, the new 11-acre mixed-use development in the heart of Downtown Miami and future home of the Brightline train service, today followed on to its recent announcement of three key anchor tenants, with the addition of two major companies who have leased space at its flagship office facility, Two MiamiCentral. These additions further cement Two MiamiCentral as the preeminent downtown office building and the only one of its kind with transportation built-in.
The two new additions are: Cisneros, a global enterprise focused on media and entertainment, digital advertising, real estate and social leadership; and Moss & Associates, a construction firm headquartered in Fort Lauderdale that focuses on general contracting, design-build and public-private partnerships throughout the United States. These companies join Ernst & Young LLP (EY), Regus and Florida East Coast Industries who will also have offices in the 10-story building with more than 190,000 square feet of Class A office space.
“Two MiamiCentral is a game-changer for office space with its built in transportation system, allowing companies to connect their employees with multiple forms of transit, easing their daily commutes,” said John Guitar, senior vice president of business development for MiamiCentral and Brightline. “With the addition of Cisneros and Moss, we are now well ahead of schedule and have leased approximately 60 percent of the available office space.”
Currently located in Coral Gables, Cisneros has leased the top two floors in the office tower at Two MiamiCentral. “MiamiCentral and Brightline represent a major step forward for South Florida,” said Adriana Cisneros, CEO and vice chairman of Cisneros. “This facility is committed to innovation, entrepreneurship and social leadership, and we look forward to being able to provide our employees with a range of amenities and transportation options located right in MiamiCentral.”
Moss & Associates will open an office at Two MiamiCentral and has leased space on the building’s seventh floor. “Downtown Miami is experiencing a development boom, including a number of projects that we are directly involved in,” said Bob Moss, chairman and CEO of Moss & Associates. “We felt strongly that we should have a presence in the center of that development and that is Two MiamiCentral.”
Designed by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP (SOM), Two MiamiCentral will also offer a range of sought after amenities and unique features that put it at the top of the commercial market. Amenities include an optimal IT infrastructure to support high-speed connectivity; valet parking; on-site dining options including the recently announced Central Fare with six restaurants and 20 food purveyors; retail stores; and entertainment. Two MiamiCentral’s office space will begin 120 feet above street level to accommodate the raised Brightline train platform and include a plaza level featuring a fitness facility, conference center and open-air terrace available exclusively for tenants and their guests.
Blanca Commercial Real Estate is the leasing agent for the commercial space within MiamiCentral. Two MiamiCentral is scheduled to open in 2017.
