First of four OKO Group projects in Miami to break ground

MIAMI (Sept. 26, 2017) – OKO Group, the Miami-based development company founded by real estate magnate and prolific international developer, Vladislav Doronin, has announced the groundbreaking of its 57-story luxury condominium tower Missoni Baia, located in the fast-growing Edgewater neighborhood in Miami. The 649-foot-tall tower, represents the first of OKO Group’s four Miami projects, as well as the first-ever branded residences from the legendary Italian fashion and design house, Missoni. The project will host a groundbreaking event to commemorate the start of construction on Thursday, October 12th at 5 PM at its sales gallery located at 777 N.E. 26th Terrace.

The worlds of fashion and design will merge as Rosita Missoni joins Vladislav Doronin and his design team, including Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture of Asymptote Architecture and New York designer Paris Forino, in marking the momentous occasion for the globally acclaimed Missoni brand.

Following the commemoration, local influencers, members of the media, real estate brokers and city officials alike are invited to a celebratory cocktail reception amid a stunning Biscayne Bay backdrop.

“Missoni Baia is leading the way in Edgewater; setting a new standard for a sophisticated living with amenities worthy of a luxury resort, ” said Vladislav Doronin, Chairman and CEO of OKO Group. “We are proud to bring these distinctive, creative talents together; Hani Rashid’s expert architectural vision, the creative direction of Angela and Rosita Missoni, Paris Forino’s skilled interior design and Enzo Enea’s sensitive landscaping, to collaborate on this residential project which will define luxury in this burgeoning neighborhood. OKO Group is investing over $700 million into the Edgewater neighborhood, further bolstering this emerging, vibrant community. The Missoni Baia residences bring to the market an opportunity to invest in a unique lifestyle with a broad range of unparalleld amenities and panoramic waterfront views.”

Located in the popular Edgewater neighborhood of Miami, Missoni Baia will bring expert integration of style, craftsmanship and engineering to life, resulting in a residential experience of unmatched quality and a striking edifice that marks its presence on waterfront and skyline alike. The 649-foot-tall tower, will consist of 249 elegantly crafted residences, each ranging from one to five bedrooms, and 776 square feet to 3,788 square feet.

The interior design of the building incorporates Missoni’s trademark colorful design palette and Missoni Home furniture collection in inventive ways, including in all public spaces and amenities. Residents have access to a full suite of luxurious amenities designed in collaboration with Missoni, offering the comforts of a luxurious resort in a private residential setting. Features include a flow-through deck designed for all-day sunbathing with well-appointed cabanas, five swimming pools including an Olympic-sized lap pool, hot and cold plunge pools, a children’s pool, and an infinity-edge pool on the Bayfront Terrace, elevated tennis court and an expansive fitness center and spa overlooking the bay.

“I could not envision a more exceptional project for my brand,” said Angela Missoni, Creative Director of Missoni. “I look forward to bringing the Missoni lifestyle to Miami and delivering a product with the timeless elegance and superlative quality that is synonymous with Missoni.”

Missoni Baia’s contemporary architecture is the vision of New York-based Asymptote Architecture, led by Hani Rashid and Lise Anne Couture, pioneers in the convergence of technology and art in architecture. The firm is best known for its unorthodox and eye-catching international projects including the Yas Viceroy Abu Dhabi hotel which straddles a Formula 1 racetrack and the upcoming Hermitage Modern Contemporary Museum in Moscow. Missoni Baia is a sculptural tower with an innovative, streamlined, high-performance structure, as evidenced by the aerodynamic super-columns that render the glass façades almost entirely mullion-free. The fin-like corner columns echo the sails and sleek hulls of super-yachts—a fitting metaphor, given the building’s prominent waterfront setting. Landscaping of tropical planting and reflection pools, designed by renowned Swiss landscape architect Enzo Enea, weave together the indoor and outdoor spaces.

Many of the 249 residences offer floor-through layouts with multiple exposures and views of the city, the bay, Miami Beach, and the ocean beyond. Other larger living options include, three dramatic duplex townhomes boasting expansive private terraces near the water’s edge, and two spacious penthouses with an option to combine into one larger unit. New York-based interior designer Paris Forino, known for her high-end custom private homes, has conceptualized neutral, but luxurious backdrops for a broad range of furnishings and art.
