Missoni Baia Tops Off In Edgewater At 57 Stories, 649 Feet

Edgewater’s Missoni Baia tower has topped off at the maximum permitted height in the neighborhood.

According to the developer, the Missoni tower topped off at 57 stories and 649 feet.

Rules designed to keep air traffic from Miami International Airport safe limit the height of buildings in Edgewater to 649 feet above sea level.

A previous approval letter from the FAA listed a tower height of 646 feet above ground and 649 feet above sea level for the project.

Completion is scheduled for late 2021, the developer said.

Sales have been strong this year, with $121 million worth of units sold since January 2021. Most of the 249 condos planned in the building are now sold.

Asymptote Architecture’s Hani Rashid designed the tower.

OKO Group and Cain International are the developers.

Glazing has paused on the south face. Don’t know if the glass is supposed to change color part way up (it does).
There are a few color mismatched panels, too.

“Rules designed to keep air traffic from Miami International Airport safe”

Yeah.. because these tall buildings have a habit of “jumping into the air” and hitting passenger jets while their just innocently flying in their jet paths over someplace like downtown all over the world.

lol…

MIA needs to stop getting in the way of supertalls. The airport needs to be moved somewhere else

What are you talking about….there’s nothing in this town that’s been built even within 150ft of the FAA height limit. Economics is the real height limiter.

Um, research again.. the area where they’re building or built the Missoni Baia tower has reached a height limit imposed by the FAA.

It’s great having the airport so close. No matter where the airport is built there will be height limits on some neighborhoods.

I’ll take height limits on edgewater with a convenient airport location
