Nader Alter Ego, while you may be correct that this is not in Overtown, it shows that the approach to development in working with neighborhoods is more than what the other groups may do. Nader is trying to get people to pressure MDC especially if there are potential public benefits that are beyond the MDC scope. Tactful move, but illustrates how Nader will pull at all straws.

The Nader + Museu Team addressed the Overtown Residents with forthrightness, transparency and specifics; the Overtown residents have been lied to many, many times before by Project promoters and developers.
The Nader team represented using a minimum wage of $15, specific training programs for Overtown residents so they would be able to be part of the workforce, 10 fully paid College scholarships per year for 10 years for a total of 100 scholarships and lastly, the Nader Team specifically emphasized the massive economic impact the Proposed Project would have on the Overtown area and its CRA.
Gary Nader emphatically called for community involvement so the project’s economic impact would be used for Overtown’s needs. The Overtown CRA will receive millions of dollars as the result of the Project’s development and the re-development of Overtown can be significantly impacted by such economic stimulant.

Hey Overtown…we want to create an art center ( and a lot of slick condos) for latin american art for the rich and think you guys here in Overtown would greatly benefit as you can apply for jobs to serve the rich and their eccentricities…I am an expert in that. Also, my museum will have real art for the rich unlike the one that was built a few years ago on your park. Project really isn’t in Overtown, but since Overtown is always neglected and we can have your support, I figure that Mr Perez would not reach out to you and I have, so my sincerety should not be questioned…so what do you say, BFF.

Raid…you are clueless. This will be an empty lot for quite awhile because the cycle has changed. Related will sweeten the deal with their $5M/5 year offer to built of take the $. Nader can not afford to do that, so he takes it to the ppl but he isn’t offerening anything more.

Ohhhh ok…So then you’re saying that the people of Overtown are not sophisticated enough to attend a potential world class museum ? I got it. Thanks bruh.

Politically Correct police.

TR Dade County.

I have never seen ghetto overtown people in any world class museum or world class anything unless they are working as a janitor cleaning the place. Only the esteemed and wealthy people of Brickell and Gables should be allowed in Gary Nader’s prestigious and beautiful museum.

I agree and I was raised in both overtown and liberty city, most of the population can’t appreciate that kind of art and at most work as security. But saying the truth is not liked by the thought crime police. Also editors of TheNextMiami, I notice you delete comments become. Please undersgand what TR Dade County is true and i’m the rare exception in these communities.

Well said and I agree as well with TR dade county. Regardless to as blunt as he puts it, he is right and this is nothing new as well. But, people get super sensitive with the reality of it and all of the political correctness.

Judging by TR Dade’s last sentence, I’m pretty sure the entire comment is an act of sarcasm.

Those rich eccentric latinamericans will at least provide jobs to the overtown people!!

The PAM is expensive for the overtown people to attend and have no too much art

At least Nader is trying to do something and I rather have someone working for an eccentric latinamerican condo owner than selling and using drugs and living out of government welfare !

What he said is true, its not near overtown and the museum wouldn’t even so the african contribution to latin america.
