Miamians once again lose as a result of the local government’s corruption.

Instead of donating his entire collection intact for visitors to see, he now has to sell $100M worth of that collection just to fund the museum. He was willing to donate it all just for naming rights and a seat on the Board!!!

Gotta give it to Mr. Nader though, he is persistent. Hopefully persistent enough to continue this project, and finally provide Miami with a world class art museum. PAM is beautiful to visit but in terms of art, it is average at best to the commoner.

i agree on some levels but knowing Nader and his history, the collection is likely not worth $100m. even if it’s worth $60m, the city would be lucky to have it at the core of a Latin American Art Museum… I’m sure we will have one someday.

If Nader would just give his artwork to the PAMM then it would be a win win situation. He wouldn’t have to sell his art to fund a separate Museum and instead could give it all the existing Art Museum and make it an even stronger institution.
Just a bunch of big egos getting in the way.

I get that, but it is his collection. If i were donating $100M in art i’d want the museum to bare my name.

The last thing i’d do is donate it to another institution that currently bares the name of a crooked billionaire, whom by the way runs the firm (Related Group) that blocked my bid.

Nader is willing to give the community of Miami A LOT. The least the government could do is supply him a locale.

You think he should just donate his collection, which is valued in the hundreds of millions to a museum that gave its name away for a sub-par collection (from a museum perspective) worth $40M? The guy its named after didn’t even donate his entire collection – kept the good stuff for himself.

Why would he give his art work to a museum named after the founder of a company that just fucked him over when he was proactive about creating a museum?

I have to say that all your positive comments are very welcomed as they keep me motivated and enthusiastic to provide Miami with a world-class Latin American Art Museum that really holds a prominent and historical collection.

As the PR stated the primary Museum Collection is not for sale. The museum will open with a magnificent collection appraised by the critics, collectors and the public in general. It will be prominent platform for our artists to show their creations. I promise you it will be a very positive game changer for our community and visitors alike.

To those who give negative and disparate comments I just ask of them to please give me the opportunity to change their minds and lives by sharing with them something I always had and cherished; a beautiful life immersed in art and culture.
Please come and visit our Museum interim space at 62 NE 27 st, Miami Fl 33137
and see your collection.

As I’m always grateful to our great Miami I remain yours.
Gary Nader

Mr. Nader: everyone paying attention is appalled at how shabbily the MDC/Related scam went down. Your proposal was truly inspired and is possibly the greatest of all Miami proposals to have gone by the wayside.

If he sells $100M of his collection, how much would remain to put in a museum?

Any idea?

We should all just sit back and allow GN tp create his museum and donate his art. After all, how many of us really know anything about art?? JP knows the real estate business and dabbles in the art world; GN knows the art business and dabbles in the real estate world…
It’s time for Miami to recognize greatness in different fields and join in with knowledgeable folks. GO FOR IT, GN…share your greatness with us…

That’s art? It’s literally repulsive!

…or is that the artistic point?

Like the art or not, Botero is a world renowned artist. Having a museum with 100 of his works as well as from similarly prestigious artists from Latin America will significantly help legitimize Miami’s cultural/art scene.

Im sure you’d rather have it filled with Rothkos, Pollocks and other degenerate art–at least Botero shows skill

No, I’d rather see good classic art people actually want to see.

You sound like a provincial townie proud of his conservative values and is suspicious of anything new and disruptive that you can’t put your head around, i.e., a Trump voter.

It’s not new when it’s been rejected over and over again by the general population you loathe.

Funny, Clinton voters still can’t get their head around why their God-awful candidate lost.

Still gloating because it took all kinds of shenanigans in your sides arsenal in order to get your guy to beat a girl who’s husband had already been twice elected the president of the USA?

The joke’s on you because he won with quarter the cost your reptile queen was bought for, despite claiming experience from her serial rapist husband and selling out our uranium reserves to Russia.

Still spouting Rush Limpballs fake outrage points huh?

Cheetoman colluded with Russia in this nation’s political elections to beat a girl. Hahahahaha…….

Oh, and what’s new on your side? CNN claiming Russia used Pokemon Go to help Trump win the election? As if the dossier wasn’t crazy enough to invalidate this conspiracy from the start…

Also to add on your previous point, a senator without even one full term of experience beat your girl in the 2008 primary election. Shows how great she is with all that experience, huh?

Ha!…you’re funnier than your twitter in chief.

Cheetoman is playing dodge-ball anyway he can. Trying to throw focus on black NFL players and some hispanic youth won’t save his ass from Mueller’s investigation. He’s never had a real job in his life and he doesn’t know jackshit about politics so all he can do is try and overturn anything Obama has done and kiss Putin and the Russians ass. Your twitter in chief has no national policies of his own other than convincing dumbasses like you that he can make Mexico pay for a border wall he wants to build…hahahahaha…ahhh, hahahaha…ahhh…….

Anonymous

Wow, you talk like a schoolyard bully, all while calling Trump one. He has every right to address what’s happening in the country while doing his job, unlike the Democrats who would rather waste tax dollars on dragging this media-led Russian hoax, despite all indicators it’s going full circle and will bite them in the back. I’d say Trump knows quite a lot about politics from the way he rattles the establishment’s cage and policies you refuse to acknowledge actually working.

Mexico WILL pay for it, not directly but forced to pay equal tariffs they charge on goods which are supposed to be free trade.

I see you’re pulling the “bully card” huh? I thought all you righties were supposed to be tough?…but in reality you’re all just a bunch of wimps, just like your twitter in chief, the ultimate draft deferment man who said John McCain isn’t a hero in his book. And Cheetoman is trying to duck and dodge this investigation of his family and his cronies who colluded with Russia in this nation’s presidential elections. But even with all the evidence they keep bringing forth on this crook in the Oval Office you’ll still defend him with you very last breath. And what economic policies and plans has he produced, other than trying to overturn any and everything that Obama put in place? Please enlighten us, we’ll be waiting for you to show us any plans Cheetoman has himself formulated. Oh, and what happened with the “I’m going to bring these companies that went overseas back to the USA? I haven’t heard Cheetoman say anything about that lately. Please realize this gullible man, the only ones who going to pay for a border wall are tax payers like you. Boy, you cons sure love to be conned .
