New Design Submitted For 2000 Wynwood

New plans have just been sent to Miami’s Wynwood Design Review Committee for an apartment building in Wynwood.

Previously, plans for the site were submitted to the UDRB for project with a similar unit count.

The new plans show that the 12-story project is now proposed to include:

  • 310 residential units
  • 9,416 square feet of retail
  • 308 parking spaces

The parking garage is lined on three sides with residential. There were 5 walk-up residential units on the ground floor in the previous plan which have been removed.

Leo A Daly is now the architect. Arquitectonica was the architect for the first submittal.

The developer is Clearline Real Estate.

In February, the developer signed a deal for water and sewer utilities for 310 apartments, 1,000 square feet of full service restaurant, and 8,300 square feet of retail.

The WDRC hearing is scheduled for June 20.

This is desperately needed at that site, although the intersection of 20th and Miami is a disaster.

From a distinctive, memorable design to something that looks like literally everything else.

As if Arquitectonica doesn’t do the exact same silly Tetris block design for many other places.

I’ve seen college dormitory buildings that look more inviting.

Give that guy a raise at UDRB who requested those changes be made. Looks literally 10x better

I think the UDRB is made up of volunteers, but I’d be willing to give him an overpriced beer of choice at one of Wynwood’s microbreweries.

I think people in the comments are confused. The Tetris design is the old design

Looking at one of the pictures you would think is in Coral Gables. I wish they would be as many trees.

The whole fake aerial is bizarre, full of trees and buildings that don’t exist

By the time this is complete, the market will be saturated with rental units and nobody will want to live in this no-balcony shitbox.

LOL, you mean all the NYC people who already live in terrible appartments will actually be living in a better appartment in a better city when they move into this boxy apartment building… CAUSE WYNWOOD IS ALL NYC FINANCE & TECH PEOPLE NOW! Tell me again Anon why East LIttle Havana shouldn’t have commercial and 6-8 floor buildings off of 4th ave through 8th ave and between 8th and flagler? Cause this Wynwood neighborhood is totally inorganic and resembles the market for which it was planned. Meanwhile the locals are dying for an upzoning in thier own backyard to reap some benifits like the New York neighborhood they just invented.

You’re all over the place with your rant, but said nothing. I’ll say it again—this building is a no-balcony shitbox, and it will be hard to fill when the competition heats up over the next few years. That’s my opinion. Feel free to reserve your future no-balcony shitbox spot here.

Yet the rendering shows many balconies…

Not the newer design that will be used.
