New Downtown Whole Foods Packed With Shoppers

Downtown Miami’s big new Whole Foods opened yesterday and will clearly be a huge success.

At peak time yesterday afternoon, all of the registers were open and had lines of people waiting to check out (even after the giveaways had run out).

Nearby Publix locations in Brickell and downtown are said to be the busiest stores in the chain.

Those downtown Publix won’t be as busy now that their monopoly over the Brickell/Downtown Miami market is over.

They will be packed as we keep urbanizing…from Le aparc to Rise and Mybrickell..close to 15,000 residents being added to Brickell

“…busiest stores in the chain…”

Can you be more specific? Are these the busiest stores in the chain in Miami, in Florida, nationally?

So I just had to share this story. Yesterday after work I decided to go to Whole Foods for the first time. I live in Brickell right next to a Metromover stop and so I hoped on it and got off at Knight Center. It was a long walk just to get out of the station and also crossing the street was a bit difficult due to rush hour but still not too bad. The market itself was awesome! Packed with people and the free samples were delicious, especially the carrot cake. Their selection of soups is amazing! I got a few things and decided to walk to the Bayfront Park station, it was great! A short 2 block walk and you are there. So if you are taking the Metromover to Whole Foods Bayfront Park is the best place to get off on. I will definitely be going back this weekend.

You reminded me of something. My mother lives north of Downtown and about two blocks from a Metrorail station. I once walked from Mom’s house to the Metrorail station and rode the train to the old Miami Arena to catch a Heat game. Before the game started, it felt like a party was going on in the streets outside Miami Arena. It was the smoothest, most convient stress free experiences I ever had going to any kind of sporting event anywhere! While leaving the Metrorail station to walk back to mom’s house, I was thinking how awsome it would be to experience something like that going across the causeway into Miami Beach and back.

Something like that could spoil a person.

I have thought about the same thing many times. If the metromover went to South Beach it would be great! I for one would never drive there again. Imagine hitting the beach on the weekend, getting drinks, and not have to worry about driving back to Brickell, awesome!

Great for Brickell
wait till Brickell Citycentre opens…Miami is changing faster than ever.More prople will want to live in downtown.
All these uses will continue feeding more residential and office development.
