New Joint Partner On Beckham Overtown Site Where Stadium Once Planned

A developer appears to have joined as a joint partner on David Beckham’s Overtown property.

A stadium was once planned on the site, before the developers decided to build it elsewhere.

8th Street Connections Holdings LLC is said to be a new joint partner on the Overtown land, according to a letter sent to Miami-Dade’s Dept. of Regulatory and Economic Resources last week.

Records show that the LLC shares an address with Terra Group. The authorized partner for the LLC is a Terra executive.

It wouldn’t be Terra’s first potential deal in Overtown.

In 2020, The Southeast Overtown/Park West Community Redevelopment Agency voted on adding Terra with Michael Swerdlow as a partner on the Block 55 retail and residential project.

Terra also partnered on a bid to build the Technology Arts Media Innovation Building in Overtown.

If it weren’t for the Mas brothers’ greed, we’d have a stadium already built, and in this amazing location. Instead we wait to drive on 836 to get to the nowhere close to being built Melreese debacle

The Mas brothers are a front for Simon Fuller and Co.

I mean when the stadium is built it’ll be incredibly accesible, just take the metrorail. And people up north can take tri-rail down

Orange Line Metrorail to the Airport and you’re there. Stadium plans at Melreese have a pedestrian bridge connecting the stadium to the Intermodal Center. Fingers crossed it actually gets built and not penciled out of the project.

stop mentioning things like facts, stop please. The walkability crowd hates to hear things like that. They want more oversight and community participation – cause that helps things move along, ya know.

?? The walkability crowd and the transit crowd are the same people.

The Marlins Stadium is so close to Brickell and Downtown. It’s a shame there’s no metrorail extension there, ro if there is. It’s not promoted…

An east-west line from FIU to South Beach, utilizing the Government Center platform and with a stop at Marlins Stadium/Riverside Heights is truly a no-brainer.

Terra’s a real developer with loads of experience, which one would expect to get something going here rather quickly.

David Beckham and his posse of land thieves. They got a great no-bid deal on this piece of County owned land with the express purpose of building a stadium at this site. I wonder how they’ll convince the County commission to let them develop the site for another purpose.

Better Miami, You are the only one that gets it. I been saying this all along. We should take it back from beckam since they moved the project.
