Arquitectonica-Designed 57 Ocean To Break Ground In Miami Beach April 4

Miami Beach is getting a brand new condo building called 57 Ocean.

A groundbreaking ceremony is scheduled for April 4, the developers announced yesterday in a press release. A $3 million sales gallery also recently opened.

The 18-story tower will include 81 units ranging in price from from $1.5 million to $31 million.

An older condo building, the Marlborough House, was purchased and demolished to make way for the new project.

Multiplan Real Estate Asset Management, owned by Brazilian billionaire José Isaac Peres, is the developer.

Miami’s Arquitectonica is the architect. Interior design is by Brazilian architect and designer Patricia Anastassiadis, of Anastassiadis Arquitetos. Fortune Development Sales is handling sales and marketing.

Beautiful project Arquitectonica. This is an example of beautiful architecture that can be done when you actually put some talent to it.

People always knock Arquitectonica but they ultimately build what the client wants and can sell at a profit. The economics for an ocean front building on Miami Beach are totally different than Brickell or Edgewater. You can have a much higher standard of architecture because the market allows the units to sell for much much more. It’s all basic economics.

Dude, that design for Sawyers Landing in Overtown is horrendous, the design for those two future towers for Swire Properties by BCC is lackluster, the design of Skyrise is a joke. I don’t knock Arquitectonica just to belittle them, I make despairing remakes about their designs because they seem to be effortless and sometimes repetitive. And it doesn’t make a difference if an Architect Firm is doing designs for a beachfront tower or highrise apartments in the middle of the city, they shouldn’t look like an elementary third grader drew them.

That view of downtown in the third photo is worth 30M.

If you pay $30mm for that view you’ve just made a terrible investment

That building is in the condo canyon. It’s a peek a bo view between other condos. You want a $30M view go look at the penthouse at continuum on south beach.

Gorgeous! Love the flow through layouts and massive balconies. Building technology has come a long way.

…and not a single giant parking garage covered in sheetmetal patches in sight.

“An older condo building, the Marlborough House, was purchased and demolished to make way for the new project.”

No mention of the building falling down during the demolition, killing someone? I guess you can call that demolition.
