New Renderings Of Brightline’s Just Approved Boca Raton Station

Boca Raton’s Planning and Zoning Board voted last week to recommend approval of a design for a new Brightline station.

The project will now move to the city council for a final vote. It is scheduled to be heard at a meeting on August 24.

Preliminary work on the station is already underway, Brightline said yesterday.

A temporary parking lot and community garden that will enable station construction are on track for completion in August 2021.

A parking garage was released to contractors for bid earlier this month, and the station itself is expected to be released shortly.

The Federal Railroad Administration plans to award approximately $16.5 million toward the project. A pre-award approval was issued to Brightline on July 7, enabling the company to place an order for the necessary track material.

Shame they couldn’t add a third passthrough track. Also a bridge to cross the street over to mizner would’ve been nice.

Kinda weird the station only has one platform

It looks like there’s another platform on the other side, but I don’t see how you get to it without walking over the tracks.

There will be a sign saying “Y’all Be Careful”

Too bad they didn’t include renderings of the inside.

They ran out of money so they stopped doing over passes, you have to walk to the road intersection then cross over lmao even tri rail uses pedestrian crossings on each stop

Need more affordable housing options around mass transit. Only way we can accomplish what we really want

Bright line isn’t affordable mass transit.

If you’re looking for affordable housing, don’t start with Boca Raton

Don’t start with South Florida, unless you’re looking at Opa-Locka.

FINALLY!! Would love to know if any food/beverage/retail options will be available on site in the station or adjacent and what the connection to Mizner Park will be like for pedestrians. Time to get the shovels in the ground already.

Wow, it looks exactly like the other two!

I’ll pay attention when they show the renderings for wynwood/edgewater station and the FLL station.

Yuch. Looks like the Boca City Hall of the ’60’s that was refaced in the 80’s. It shares parking with Boca Raton Library – completely different aesthetic.

Why take Brightline when you got an Audi R8?

Anonymous

Unlike you, some people get tired of driving.

Anonymous

People with R8s don’t get tired of driving. People with 2005 Corollas get tired of driving.

Then why do people who have or have more than one Mercedes Benz, BMW, Aston Martin, Rolls Royce, etc, etc, etc… which blow Audi’s outta the water, ride in the back of Limousines?

^^^^^why do people who live with their mom and drive ’05 Corollas post sh!t about the car preferences of others?

This fake azzz place talks more about design and paperwork than actually moving masses of people. What a joke of a town. Everything is on paper. Words, words, words. Talk talk talk. Buildings buildings buildings. But actually nothing that moves stuff forward. Hard to explain but it is what I feel about this place from my several years of observing.

Um, this is a privately owned entity so it not for purposes like a public owned entity.

Delray would be a better stop.

No. Boca will get more traffic, but if they do a local line like they’re doing in Miami Delray will be a good stop.
