New Video Captures The ‘Insane’ Lighting Scheme At 700-Foot Paramount Miami Worldcenter

Downtown Miami’s recently completed 60-story Paramount Miami Worldcenter has some of the best exterior lighting in the city, and a new video captures just how much the tower does for the city’s skyline.

Filmmaker Matthew Hoyos created the video of the elliptical-shaped building, and uploaded it to social media. The building is “insane” and “reminds me of a rocket about to takeoff,” Hoyos wrote.

Lights on the building regularly change in shape and color, helping it to stand out in the skyline.

Paramount was completed in August 2019, and is now the seventh tallest building in Miami at 700 feet above ground.

I just hope they maintain them. There are already quite a few lights not working on the eastern face.

Yeah, it’s a brand new building – why are they out and why don’t they replace them? Faulty electrical? It’s too bad, because it really takes away from the fact they are really stunning.

“it really takes away from the fact they are really stunning”

Well, according to a lot of the comments I’ve read on this site so far, it’s apparent they don’t agree with your assessment.

Jesus

I love it! The lighting makes the city look like a scene out of a futuristic movie. I have seen the building not light up that much in the past few months but this one video makes those days a distant memory. Very nice!

These trends will draw more and more tv and movie productions to the city. Very photogenic.

POLO

The lighting for this tower is simply stunning. I wish this tower was located on Biscayne Blvd., so it can be visible from the east.

Jesus

Being visible from the West is great to for the suburban folks like myself driving into the city.

Anonymous

North as well for her midtown folks could see it.

MIAMI is growing up.

Anonymous

yes lights mean it’s growing. LOL

I guess you’re another one that can’t see the forest because of the trees.

For all the naysayers back in the day when this was proposed, this building is saying, “HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!!!”

Anonymous

I know but still lots and lots of empty lots in the area. Not to mention boarded up stores. I mean I d say 80% of stores downtown are boarded up….
Sad

That only means that all of downtown needs to change. Tear down and build highrise residential buildings and really densify (I know that’s not a word) the place. Heck, I can get a cheap toaster, socks, and sandals almost anywhere.

You’re thinking of Flagler Street, most other businesses downtown are booming. Hopefully Flagler will catch up one day.

Anonymous

booming? where?

AB boomin’ up in Hollywood with his recent live IG

You obviously haven’t taken a look at S W 1st Street
NW 1 st Street, Miami Ave and on and on and on

Azarius

Mana is holding central downtown (Flagler to 5thst) Hostage. I really think he holding the land as prices go up to maximize profits …hate to say it but Melos buildings are poorly built and overpriced and will end up being market/work force housing which is needed thanks Melo

THIS is why no one takes you seriously as a researcher.

people in that building have to face the back side of the buildings on Biscayne – look into those bright florescent lights on their cat walks and then walk down to homeless people on the sidewalk. how gross

Excellent point!
You have an amazing ability to find the negative in an amazing situation!
Please, please, please…I want to hang out with you!
Please come to my housewarming party when I move in!
In fact, I want to hire you in my company and overpay you!
Negative and miserable people are so hard to find these days….

The lighting is great – a real addition to the skyline. But how about the much hyped and promised retail at ground level at Paramount? Can’t eat a light show…..

Anonymous

Why, are you starving right now?

I know everyone seems to love this tower, and I will say that I am surprised it was constructed, but would anyone want to live here? Are these buyers the new pioneers who will wait 10 years for the neighborhood to be created? Created with trees and parks and stores downstairs? With so many available apartments in established neighborhoods nearby, it gets me asking- why? Also, these Paramount apartments are huge and expensive with not the best views.
But best of luck to Paramount owners.

investments and I drive by I see alot of people by the valet. So many could be air bnb too

Gee, going by your jargon, I wonder how cities like New York, Chicago, and San Fransico got built?

The NAP center is just an disappointment. In renderings they had it covered in LED panels and those barriers removed. Hopefully the office tower will have pilings in the ground soon and new news will come out about the convention center status.

Go Miami go!

Beautiful.
Go Miami go.
Can’t wait to see it when I am on a plane landing or taking off at night.

Beats the shitastic lighting at the Paramount!

Anonymous

Its badass. They had a fireworks display on it on New years eve.

Anonymous

Nice building…I like the lights. There should be more buildings with lights nearby.

Anonymous

Am I the only one who thinks the lighting looks beyond budget conscious (as nicely put as possible)? Can’t be…

Anonymous

You and others who worry about that can spend all the money you want to buy the new and expensive lighting you want to see for this building.

You mean, there’s a lot of shit you don’t find tacky about it now?

Geezzz I wish they would take that land that are just two parking lots on both sides of the used to be Miami News tower so somebody can build towers on them and fill in that stupid looking gap in the Miami skyline.

These lights disturb my peace of mind.

-Downtown NIMBY

Anonymous

The downtown nimby is overhyped. Ultra was moved because of the city not because of thousands of residents complaining.

Anonymous

Ultra 2020! Back at Bayfront!

???????

Not thousands, a couple really loud annoying residents

Then move.
