Newgard Building A Mixed-Use Tower At Worldcenter; Paramount And Mall Will Break Ground In Third Quarter

Newgard Development Group will file plans to build a mixed-use tower at Miami Worldcenter, according to a statement from Worldcenter’s developer (city staff say they haven’t received any application yet.)

Construction on the The Mall at Miami Worldcenter and the Paramount Miami Worldcenter condominium project will begin in the third quarter, the developers said. An application for building permits will be submitted in the coming weeks.

At an investor presentation last week, Bobby Taubman, the CEO of the mall developer, told analysts that there was great demand for the new retail space. Taubman was responding to an analyst who had questioned the need for three malls under construction in downtown Miami, including Brickell City Centre and the Design District.

Newgard’s project would be in addition to a 429-unit rental tower called Luma, to be developed by ZOM. That tower will break ground in early 2016.
