Norse Atlantic Launching Flights From Miami To Oslo & London

Norse Atlantic Airways will begin flying from Miami International Airport in September, the company announced today.

The airline has never flown to MIA before, but currently flies the same routes to FLL (those flights will be cancelled, and passengers rebooked).

Flight schedules are already loaded and available for purchase. They show service from Miami to London will begin at three times weekly in September, increasing to daily in November.

To Oslo, two weekly flights are shown in September, and once weekly in November.

All flights will be operated by a 787.

Norse Atlantic has its U.S. headquarters in the Miami area.

The first flights for the airline took place in June 2022.

EVERYONE flying in/out domestically wants FLL….tickets are much cheaper for domestic flights than MIA.

Homer CHEERLEADING FAIL!!!

This is nonsense, nobody prefers FLL. Besides, are people looking for budget airline tickets really the type of visitors we want in Miami?

^^the nonsense is ALL in your response, that is laughable–people will willingly paying more for airline tickets to “enjoy” MIA lol, people would pay more to AVOID MIA!!!

Nobody “prefers” FLL, but will put up with it. If airports were all about preference rather than services provided, everybody would be flying to and from PBIA.

You might find a ticket a bit cheaper but you will pay the difference to Uber. Potato potato.

Not if you live in Aventura or Hollywood or Pompano Beach. Apples Oranges.

stupid self serving comment obviously … no ‘proof’ of anything … if you live near FLL of course you like to fly from there, the metro area is from Miami to West Palm Beach, all the airports are a benefit, some (international) might be better suited to the larger MIA for connections, but many times better to fly from FLL or PBI

FLL is a much easier airport. Wish they stayed.

Apparently FLL comes with a pool so it’s a bargain😂

I far rather drive from Miami to FLL and get to X-destination non-stop or even connect in ATL/JFK/DTW, then ever fly from MIA.

Nothing beats 5 min curbside to gate at FLL. Their facilities are far beyond anything MIA offers, especially the god-awful Concourses E-H.

Prices are generally lower in FLL as the airport is dominated by quite a few carriers, versus just an AA majority at MIA.

If I was a budget-traveler, sure. But I prefer major airports with premiere lounge access. FLL is trashy.

I just wanna get somewhere and get there on the cheap. I don’t need my butt kissed along the way.

FLL has a new Escape Lounge (Centurion Studio) and a new Delta Sky Club. Not the pinnacle of lounges, but still not too bad

Clearly you do not have tsa pre check or any airline status

I fly out of FLL more then I fly from MIA and I live downtown at Worldcenter

I flew out of FLL last year. Never again. Weird vibe there. Also, after being on a flight for a few hours, who wants to sit in an Uber for another hour trying to get back to Miami.

Same experience here. Anytime I’ve been forced to fly out of FLL, it’s just inundated with dumb American tourists looking to save a buck to catch their cruise.

Frankly, we should be glad to have access to both airports in our metro area.. not all major cities can say the same. FLL is a much better domestic airport with greater airline options, while Miami is a better international airport that offers more long haul flights. If you’ve ever flown from concourses E-H at Miami, it’s an embarrassment and extremely hard to navigate. FLL’s Terminal 1 is far more luxurious than any domestic concourse in Miami and has cheaper flight options. Likewise, Terminal J at Miami does a great job for European and Latin American passengers. If you’re living anywhere from Bal Harbor to Pompano and flying domestic, FLL is a no brainer.

FLL has greater domestic airline options than MIA?? You mean cheaper.

Miami deserves a state of the art airport. Time to step it up! Look at Singapore as an example😉

Love this! Why keep mosquitoes and insects outdoors when you can enjoy them inside too. (nah I’m joking, just wanted to fit it with the rest of the NIMBY anons, too young to be a NIMBY anyway) hope Miami has something as beautiful.

Arquitectonica or Zyscovich will gouge their eyeballs and draw more nonsense blind than look at real architecture. The existing airport was state of the art 65 years ago, and if it’s replaced by something by such architectural firms, it won’t even be start of the art today in Uganda.

Not for nothing, Ft Laud is a beautiful city and very well known for the most part, domestically. Miami is an international brand. It’s a natural for Norse to fly out of MIA.
Regardless of the airport conditions.
Ft Laud is difficult to pronounce for most foreigners to begin with.

All the new airlines and services in MIA and they choose not to update any facilitates like what they did in other airports across the state like FLL, MCO, or TPA, even Key West is undergoing a massive reno.

I wish MIA could just be the designated the main international airport of south Florida, especially with European and South American direct flights, whereas FLL could just be awesome at domestic.

So Miami could be JFK and FLL could be LaGuardia, to put in perspective for the New Yorkers here.

The issue is that Orlando has much easier access to all 3 major US Highways. I-75 to Chicago and the midwest, I-95 to NYC and the Northeast, and I-10 which ends in Los Angeles. For Miami to be competitive we need world class rail connections as an alternative to driving, which would be much more attractive to the European and Asian visitors.

It makes total sense for them! Norse is a great business model. Nice cabin and amazing service. You can’t beat the 787. Highly recommend this service. BA’s A380 is falling apart, they are set for retirement and they keep them at the most basic air worthiness. One World alliance controls the segments and the prices are insane glad to see competition.

I would guess F were French Bee, BOA, international charters, and other random international carriers fly from. I doubt they’d be able to sneak into J

Um what? There are 3 daily flights to Santiago with Lan and 1 daily flight there with AA. It’s a great route that I fly often. As for Montevideo, AA has historically had this route, but it was cut during COVD. It’s expected to return eventually, but in the meantime, just fly to BA and take the ferry over. It’s a nice trip.
