Okan Tower ‘Averaging Floor Per Week Vertical Rise’

Okan Tower is now “averaging a floor a week vertical rise,” according to contractor Jacob Companies.

A photo posted to social media showed a line of concrete trucks ready for a pour, which took place at 4AM.

The 70-story Okan Tower is eventually planned to reach a height of 902 feet in the air.

It will be one of Miami’s tallest towers when it reaches completion, which the developers said earlier this year is planned for 2027.

The tower is planned to include 163 residential units, 236 short-term rental residences managed by Hilton, and a 316-key Hilton Miami Bayfront Hotel along with 64,000 square feet of Class A office space.

Historic core of downtown, not Park West which is north of the tracks.

@TheNextMiami can you please write an article listing all areas of Miami, especially Downtown? This way we can finally understand which area is called what. I’m from San Francisco, I’m new here and I’d love to better understand the era. Thank you!!

Most anticipated tower downtown! It will be a sight to see once they start construction on the top 10 floors.

I’ve heard some say skyscraper builders are engaging in nothing more than ego-stroking d?!kswinging competitions. Of course, it may be because they themselves feel lacking.

Why people keep comparing Miami with metropolis like NYC? Although Miami has grown exponentially in the last years, it’s still decades far from surpassing NYC.

Maybe because there is a huge migration of NYers to Miami, more than ever before. Maybe it’s because Miami’s growth is calling international attention. Maybe it’s because the city of Miami is resembling more and more NYC with all the high rises being built. Maybe it’s because the growth is also in relation to jobs and different sectors. Maybe it’s because Miami is still pretty cheap when compared to cities like NYC and yet offer similar experiences. And ultimately, maybe it’s because the change is happening now, and if it takes time, we cannot avoid commenting on the process.

Builders should build what I want. Never mind that I couldn’t get a job sweeping the lobby floors in these buildings, let alone buy a unit in any of these places–they should listen to me.

The true center of downtown! Flagler to 395 is 12-blocks. Okan Tower is on 6th St.

Technically, Okan Tower is in downtown, not Park West.

Anon

Thats true but seeing as Miami Worldcenter is across the street from OKAN it will be perceived as part of that area – similar to Natiivo – technically not part of Miami Worldcenter but might as well be a part of it – has the same streetscape and everything.

Park West is downtown… so based on your logic, technically Park West is in Miami, or better Florida.

Jessica

Downtown is made of many neighborhoods, Park West is one of them. Technically you live in the US but you are also from Florida and also from Miami, I mean it’s not hard to understand.
