Okan Tower Begins Marketing To Buyers In Turkey, Groundbreaking In September

Okan Group held a press conference in Istanbul yesterday to introduce Okan Tower Miami, according to media reports there. Architect Robert Behar and Okan Holding Chairman Bekir Okan presented the project to reporters.

A sales center for the project is open in Istanbul. There is also a website and video in Turkish, although English and other languages are coming soon.

A Turkish Hamam is one of many amenities that will be included in the building. Units are being sold by square meter, to further make Turkish buyers comfortable.

Buyers can purchase a unit with 10 percent down.

It is the biggest project for a Turkish company in the U.S., with total cost said to be $300m.

Construction will begin in September, with completion in 3-4 years.

There’s an excellent article on the Wall St Journal about the Amazon cities that lost, why and what they are doing in respect. Apparently, Amazon contacted them to advise reasons

Along with Aston Martin Residences, this should raise the bar against mediocre architecture (*cough* Marriott Marquis Miami Worldcenter Hotel & Expo Center and One Brickell *cough*), I hope at least…

Anonymous

I can’t understand for the life of me why the Marriott dumbed down it’s original plans? That area will become the heart of Miami once everything is all done. People coming to the convention center for events, Heat games, shopping, visitors, tourist and Miami world center will all need places to stay. Plus every one coming to visit riding Brightline especially from Orlando will want a hotel close to Brightline. If anything Marriott will need even more rooms to keep up with demand! They are making a big mistake dumbing down their plans.

Any news on Melos project?

Anonymous

Three to four years to complete this project? What kind of building techniques will they be using to build this structure, hands and stone?

Anonymous

It’s a tall tower with complex engineering feats. They are also estimating time to market and absorb. Good thing is, they want to start soon

Anonymous

Heck, the Empire State Building only took a year to build. If the Melo Group started building their project next to this in December 2019, they would still be finished topping off theirs before the Okan Group’s tower is topped off.

WHAT are you talking about they haven’t purchased the land….??? Okan Group Closed on this site in early March and paid $18,095,000 for it… As if they’d start marketing a project without securing a site first **SMH**… Lay off that mondocondo weed you’re smoking man, it’s making you say dumb things
