There doesn’t appear to be any new activity recently at the Okan Tower project.
Okan’s tower is proposed to rise 70 stories and 902 feet, with residential condo units, a Hilton hotel, and office space.
The developer launched sales in 2018, applied for approvals, and hired a contractor. They also announced that they would begin construction on the tower regardless of sales.
In September 2019, the developer applied for a construction permit and began working through the approval process for several months. There has been no activity on it since December 2019.
Two 53-story towers by Melo Group broke ground directly next to the Okan site in December 2019 and have now topped off, potentially blocking off some view corridors from the Okan tower.
Okan’s sales effort may have been slightly mistimed, as Miami’s real estate market is now as hot as its ever been, with a surge in sales this year. It isn’t clear if Okan is still actively marketing units.
The building that Okan had leased as a sales gallery was listed for sale, but that listing was removed last week.
