DeSimone Engineers has promoted the designer of One Bayfront Plaza.
Luis Ramirez, who is designing the 92-story mixed-use building, has been promoted to principal of the firm’s structural design practice.
The project will become the tallest in both Miami and Florida at around 1,040 feet, and the first to break the 1,000-foot milestone, the firm said.
It will include an underground parking garage, a 14-story podium with 100,000 square feet of retail along with parking. Above that will be a 200-key hotel and ballroom, 20 stories of office space followed by 56 stories of residential.
Ramirez is also working on plans for One Thousand Museum, and a guitar-shaped tower at Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood Resort & Casino, both under construction.
