One Brickell City Centre – New Rendering Shows Helicopter

The developers of the One Brickell City Centre supertall have released a new rendering showing what appears to be a helicopter coming in for a landing.

The rendering was first spotted by Ryan RC Rea at the project site.

Developers Swire Properties and Related Companies plan to begin demolition at the property in early 2023, followed by foundation work.

Related founder Stephen Ross said he wants to lease 25 to 40 percent of the building before groundbreaking, and is confident the market is strong enough, according to the SFBJ.

It will take around four years to complete the tower.

A helicopter on the roof and a Formula 1 car in the lobby. Next, we need a yacht in the pool and the vision is completed.

There won’t be any helicopter. Maybe a yoga class.

The heliport will be a perfect venue for a music video, or for a scene for an action movie!

It’s Channel 7 News…first on the scene. An, unidentified person resembling Joe Carollo has been spotted installing cat and dog sculptures on the roof.

This is the beginning of a new era. Miami means business and not just partying anymore.

Then we should have more office space and many more HQs here

Brickell Stakeholder

We will! All the employees and chief level executives are here in Miami already. That’s why they can’t get anyone back to the offices in NYC and California. But I know they are itching to have a community space that’s nice to work from, even if its a hybrid use.

Hence the race car in the lobby

I think I called Miami a party city in the comments a few weeks ago and was immediately attacked by a bunch of very angry miamians who were SURE Miami IS NOT a party city – yeah OK lol

A landmark in the making. Not sure about the Helipad, though. In my opinion, an observation deck is what we need. Miami has so many buildings with great views, but none of them have any observation decks.

Anon

An observation deck is public, and Miami doesn’t push for public investment

Not necessarily, a top shelf restaurant and lounge is private. Like the one in East Hotel

That’s why we needed Skyrise.

Observation decks are actually mostly private. People have to buy tickets, and they are a big draw to the building and the city. They would be stupid to not include them.

So far exactly zero of these helipads installed on high end buildings in Miami have been used

anon

Correct. Developers should take note that this amenity is NEVER used and just build the space out as amenity space.

getting your helicopter to land on the roof for a pick up/drop off is such an inconvenience for everyone else in the building the rules are quickly changed to not allow it.

They do yoga on the one at OneThousand Museum…

I’d love to do yoga on a helipad. Smart and resourceful.

Using a multi-million dollar, unused helipad, for a YOGA CLASS, is resourceful?… Sometimes I wonder about the commenters on this site….

They have happened with such little inconvenience, that you haven’t even noticed.

I hope it has an observation deck with food/beverage service. Miami needs more observation venues to host events or check out these epic views!

This is already outdated, helicopters are so 80s, they should put a passenger drone in the rendering instead like the ones that are already operational in Dubai

My building has invisible teleportation machines on the roof! Even more futuristic than the outdated Dubai

It is for the eVtols on the way soon. Private and air taxis. They are coming and in the process of FAA approval. They are quiet and go vertical, then move like an aircraft.

Sure they are.

Time for those two office building parking garages along the bay, church parking lot, and Four Embarrassments to go for even taller and truly iconic towers.

If the FAA will not approve any structures taller than 1049 feet because of airplane safety wouldn’t hellicopters flying around above those building endanger airplane safety ? Would they have to schedule landing / takeoffs with the airport ?

peej

Yes, of course they have to schedule. Ft. Lauderdale has two Helipads downtown (DT1), they coordinate with the Executive Airport (FXE) for all flights.

It’s a nice building, but still no One World Trade Center/Freedom Tower, Willis/Sears Tower, or Wilshire Grand Center. We can only hope for something on the Villa Magna site for something that isn’t a box or stacked boxes.

Can you imagine what a hellscape miami will be if downtown actually had as many buildings as in these renderings. Biscayne Bay is already 50% caca today.
