Is The One Coming? Related Group Shutters One Brickell Website

Related Group has closed the onebrickell.com website that had been taking pre-sales contact information for One Brickell.

The developer also didn’t renew several other domain names that had been registered for the project.

Related’s broker continues to actively market space in the 444 Brickell office building, which was to be demolished and replaced by One Brickell.

Hopefully on hold for a couple of years. Time that could wisely be used to fire Arquitectonica, rethink and redesign this project. The site is way too precious and the current design way too boring. I am personaly sick of the 3-tower project with the massive pedestal that clearly Arquitectonica has tried to ‘decorate’ them with waves, circles, and all type of crap.
Underground parking can be done and should be enforced on sites in front of the river and the bay to maximise public views.
Would love to see retail in front of the river with hopefully more office towers instead of just residential.
There is still hope for this site and the Hyatt/ James L Night Center site… it would be awesome to see some private/public partnership to do a massive redevelopment on both sides of the river. Something new that incorporates performing arts, retail, a promenade, public space, residential and office…our own Hudson Yards!!

Love that idea, i think those two sites are perfect spots for a massive development like the one you describe. Along with this, i would propose a tunnel under the bridge to connect downtown and Brickell and an ultramodern pedestrian bridge.

I know what you mean. Sometimes i forget we have a river…look at Chicago, London, Paris, etc. We have a river but it is not connected or integrated in anyway. There is some kind of ‘river walk’ but it hasn’t been implemented correctly.

Yes, yes!!! let’s also add Unicorns and magical sprinkles!!!
Remember what happened with the Great proposal for the Miami Beach Convention Center by OMA?!?! Believe me, I would love to see these kinds of developments but look around you. No one designs or develops with the city in mind, and the ones that run the city only have one thing in mind $$.

I understand your disappointment but politicians and developers will finally understand someday that they need to step it up and work towards a bigger goal. With the prices of real state rising, Miami needs to offer a lot more of what the city is right now. We all agree that tourism is one of the main industries but it is currently targeted to youngsters that enjoy the party scene and people from Latin American that come to Miami to shop. But we need to diversify, we need to become more attractive, because our current ‘appeal’ is not unique.

I am usually all for new high rises but I am glad this one will not happen, at least for the time being. The city needs to address the traffic due to the bridge always been up before placing another skyscraper at the mouth of the River.

Try 3 new skyscrapers…

I think traffic has to collapse in order for these idiots to do something about it. The bridge issue has been a real problem for more than 10 years already.

Until underground mass transit gets built, any further high-density development in that area is simply not plausible. Traffic is already too crazy.

Even for Related is a to risky decision to go further …….With the income property producing , they can wait until next cycle in 3 years ……
