Nearly 3 acres of Brickell Avenue land currently housing the headquarters of Pacific National Bank and Fortune International Realty offices could be in play as a major development project.
Tigervest N.V., a Netherland Antilles Corporation controlled by Jose Alvarez, owns the Fortune property at 1300 Brickell Avenue, with Pacific National Bank owning the neighboring property at 1390 Brickell Avenue. Tigervest has submitted a joint request with Pacific National bank to close and vacate an alley that runs through both properties, which could permit a unified site of development. If the two properties were to be combined, it would allow for a full square block on Brickell Avenue to be developed.
The two property owners have separately hired the Lydecker Diaz and Greenberg Traurig law firms to represent them. Miami’s Planing and Zoning Department is recommending that he request be approved.
In 2004, Fortune had planned a 950-foot tall tower on the Tigervest site, but those plans were later scrapped.
