Paramount, Miami’s Fourth Tallest Under Construction, Reaches The Halfway Point (Photos)

Paramount Miami Worldcenter is growing fast, and now near the exact halfway point of 349 feet above ground.

The glassy tower is the fourth tallest tower under construction in Miami, and will top off at 65 stories and 699 feet above ground, 709 feet above sea level.

As of August, the project had achieved $360 million sales with 68% of 513 condo units.

Also included on the same block is a large retail project, with an office building to break ground in Q2 2018.

I love how everyone has voted up the comment for the nice, new office tower, which will be full of high-paying jobs, but nobody here can imagine paying any money for a train service.

37x2x260(work days) = you want to pay 19k a year just to commute?

aceraroja

I can’t imagine there won’t be good bulk discounts for actual commuters, as with any train system.

Also, how many people commute that route currently? If this is your current commute it may work out well but if you are new to the area and will be working around MWC what advantage would you gain by living near one of the other stations in FLL or WPB? Rent aren’t much cheaper, less amenities, plus you add extra time getting to the station. I don’t see it being a boon to commuters and therefore the target demographic. Leisure and tourism sectors sure.

Very excited about all these projects. Downtown, Overtown, and the Performing Arts area are getting a huge makeover and reshaping our city. Miami is growing up and looking good.

Love that architects are looking at Zaha for inspiration. Easy to do since there isn’t much else around.

I think this is the one of the top new developments – not only do they have like 30 amenities and I love the building, but, even more important to me, the walkability to just about everything I’d want in what will fill likea brand new 25 acre $1.5B city.

Nope, not a broker — there’s plenty of projects I hate in Miami — just like to see what’s new/nice iwhen I’m ready to make a move.

The office tower could easily be filled with offices moved from the suburbs, and remove some cars on the road with transit access.

Downtown Miami is getting a needed make-over.. MWC the first of many mixed-use projects on tap.

“As of August, the project had achieved $360 million sales with 68% of 513 condo units.”

I remember months and months ago there were people commenting on this very site when it was first introduced saying that “no one will buy into this building because it was not on the waterfront and it had the back of some other towers to look at.

If this building could talk it would be saying “HOW YOU LIKE ME NOW!”

There are so many cities in the world with no water at all thats more expensive than MWC. Everybody does not care about water front not only that its a river not the beach view which is far more impressive than a river view. This project was never marketed to water front buyers but to buyers who value location and amenities. If I could live in a condo in Miami this is where it would be. Walking distance to the everything I could want is just amazing to me. Trust me people MWC is the best bang for your buck if you ask me!

“Also included on the same block is a large retail project, with an office building to break ground in Q2 2018.”

If they get started on building this office tower in the second quarter of 2018, that should mean a topping off in about Nov – Dec of 2019. Which would be right on time when the cameras start rolling in Miami for SuperBowl 2020!

Lets get ready to strut MIA.

Interesting to me that MWC tower in my opinion is one of the most attractive buildings being built in Miami. Yet I don’t hear many people talking about it… It’s height, beautiful architecture, glass and lighting effects make it some much more different from the rest. I’m I the only one that is just as excited about this build as the others being built?

IF ANYONE BELIEVES THESE 500,000.00 AND UP CONDOS ARE BEING BOUGHT UP BY THE AVERAGE EARNER WHO WILL LIVE FULL TIME,WORK AND SUPPORT LOCAL BUSSINESSNES , YOURE CRAZY! Many suspect- these apts are pre purchased by international buyers looking to hide money. They will inevitably rent the units or leave them empty untill they need to or want to sell them.New monolithic condo buiildings in Miami are the new drugs of the 70’s and 80’s…

The best results of all this mid town down town Miami building development, is the temporary jobs its creating for the skilled work force which is usually left behind in a stabilized economy. The fear is, as the downfall hits or project completion becomes a reality, these laborers will need to compete for remaiing jobs.

It’s honestly sad seeing all those beautiful buildings behind paramount and knowing that the vast majority of those units are treated as vacation homes.

And you know that they are being “treated as vacation homes,” how?

What troubles me is the retail part of this project. Stores in a narrow, straight , dark canyon. Is that it?

You mean like other big cities?

aceraroja

It’s called a street.

My concern is that it seems, so far, that every single upper floor is parking. Parking as far as the eye can see. Unless those extremely low ceiling heights are just a construction-time illusion. It seems SO short-sighted to me to build thousands of parking spots that can never be converted to another use.

Beautiful. Just a shame it’s view will be blocked by the buildings along the Biscayne wall.

You mean people from half way around the world who do not share the same values (communist)?

Anonymous

The Chinese communist party has around 90 million members out of a population of 1.31 billion – less than 7%. A lot of Chinese are trying to get their money out of their country. They view US real estate as a more stable investment.

Anonymous

That is not an accurate figure. No matter where you think you got that data. But yes, China’s population is leading to a more capitalistic approach than a communist approach. Simply because of the quality of life.

“You mean people from half way around the world who do not share the same values (communist)?”

Florida has the KKK, Neo Nazis, Aryan Nation, and Skin Heads living in it. I don’t see you whining about them. Do you share their values too?
