Pharrell & David Grutman Are Opening The Goodtime Hotel In South Beach: ‘Like Being In A Wes Anderson Film’

Pharrell & David Grutman have announced plans to open a new hotel in South Beach called The Goodtime Hotel.

The project has been years in the making, and is now nearing completion.

Plans to rebuild the entire 600 block of Washington Avenue were first submitted in early 2016, and construction on the project began in March 2018.

A historic structure was rebuilt with a brand new 266-room hotel above. It was first submitted to the city in 2016 with 312 micro-hotel units.

Williams told Vogue that being in the hotel will be like being in a Wes Anderson film.

There will be an indoor-outdoor eatery next to the third floor pool deck called Strawberry Moon.

There will also be a lobby lounge, recording studio, outdoor workout area, and 45,000 square feet of retail.

Morris Adjmi Architects, NBWW and Raymond Jungles are among those designing the project. G.T. McDonald is the contractor. Dreamscape is the lead developer.

Opening is scheduled for January 2021.

Good scale for SoBe, not too tall and still maintains the original Art Deco frame at the pedestrian level. More projects like this pls

It’s not a good time to open the Goodtime Hotel. The hospitality industry is in the dumps due to Covid-19. However, when this crisis is over it will be a great addition to South Beach hotel offerings.

LOVEEE it! A very welcome addition to that area of South Beach which has been severely lacking in upscale accommodations and restaurants.

Much better than “like being in a Wes Craven film.”

Excellent addition. Hope they bring a level of service at the pool club that will offer a level of service and desirability to compete with Soho Beach House, further north, and more convenient for residents South of Fifth (SoFI).

The architecture and interiors and amazing, but the building should have been broken up if it wasn’t allowed to go taller. It looks odd being so long at its relatively short height.

Why would you wait until 2021? It looks complete it already.
