Photo: Ford Self-Driving Car Passing By Brickell City Centre

Our cameras captured a Ford self-driving car as it passed Brickell City Centre last week (3/29).

A sign on the side said a Postmates delivery was in progress.

Miami- the only city where even a half figured out autonomous vehicle would still be safer than the average human driver. Anything is better than that.

At night, illegally jay walking with no reflective gear or situational awareness? Ya, generally not a good idea….

On a very well lit road. Any driver would have seen her.

Please Mayor and City/County Commission – do not allow these self driving cars on our streets.

Cyclist and pedestrians already have it dangerous enough without self driving cars that can’t even see and/or avoid people.

Until these cars can prove they are safe they should not be on our streets.

Yet you’re ok with the cars being controlled by these Miami maniac drivers?

How does this car anticipate the many emergencies, like other drivers changing their minds in a split second intending to turn left one block ahead but forgot while still in the right hand lane and decides to cut across three lanes of traffic to make the left turn, all in a matter of seconds? If this is the future, then prepare for mahemn. Also it is still an automobile on the roadway, so it does nothing to alleviate traffic.

Valid point. This is exactly why the more autonomous, networked vehicles are on the road, the safer we will all be.

This is moronic, Miami drivers are terrible, and these machines are much safer, say byebye to your Uber job!

“these machines are much safer”

Tell that to the person that was just recently killed in Arizona while riding a bike by one of these “safe machines.”

The video proved it was the bicyclist fault.

She wasn’t riding a bike. She was walking it, actually jaywalking it, across the street.
I’m sorry she died, but as a cyclist and pedestrian who doesn’t own a car, I would say we non-drivers, as a group, need to take more responsibility for our own safety.
