Photo: Overtown’s High-End Soleste Grand Central Apartment Building Continues To Rise

Soleste Grand Central, an 18-story apartment building in Overtown that will include high-end apartments, continues its vertical rise.

Two tower cranes were installed several months ago to assist with construction.

The project will include 360 Class A multifamily units in an 18-story tower. There will also be ground floor retail, and a parking garage with 438 spaces. 40 of the units will be set aside for workforce, low income and affordable housing.

Total project value is estimated at $110 million. Bank OZK issued a $55.41 million construction loan, with another $18 million mezzanine loan from Nationwide Insurance.

The project site is in an Opportunity Zone.

Perfect scale and great location for a mixed income tower only need about another 10000 more affordable units to satisfy pent up demand…

“Perfect scale?”

What about those who think it should be no taller than four stories?

Perfect scale? What is the scale ratio used to make such a definitive statement?

This is a nice tower. Now build a few more in the area. Some with reduced parking.

The NW 7th Avenue should be rezoned to allow buildings like this that will improve the whole Corridor.

Great looking building that will help revitalize the area. I think to keep it high end you need to get rid of the 4 story building next door. Great addition to block 45 and block 55.

True, they will probably get bought out soon.

too bad those are condos and would require a condo termination. Not impossible, but unlikely for this area.

Hopefully these buyers will get more than the “high end” buyers Related’s buyers got: cracking stucco, loose glass paneling in the railings, faulty wiring, and plumbing issues. All just a couple years after the building was brand new at a $6,000,000 price tag.
