I think is purely a technicality so they can ask for another payment from buyers

Doesn’t look “topped off”. I thought the top floors were tapered off, if so, they have a few more floors to build.

‘Capital One Cafe’…omg, that is really boring retail. I have heard Houston’s was searching for a new location on this building or near MB Village.

I agree with everybody that it does not really looked topped off. I want to add actually, that ever since the FAA allowed for more taller buildings in the area, and Tiber Hollo taking advantage of that, I believe that these two should also go higher. I would love for them to be at 1000′ but if I were to be realistic, I would say that 648′, the SLS tower next to it’s height, should be the minimum. I believe it’s time we go taller on the skyscrapers. And for those that say that this tower responds to the market, they have sold 96 percent. That is excellent. If they were to add some more condos with the height increase, and the percentage sold went to say, 80 percent, that is very decent and it will get sold within five years. For crying out loud, it’s in Brickell, next to Brickell City Centre, and more people want to live here! So yeah, let’s respond to the market by adding more condos.

Yah, because the developer can just decide “ah damn, it was designed for xxx feet, but let’s just add some more stories now and make it 1,000 feet”

It’s as if structural engineering doesn’t even matter or something….

Very interesting, I have a Capital One credit card but I never knew they had Capital One cafes. Hope they do well, it will be right across the street from Rosa Mexicano and P.F. Changs.

Yeah a whole intersection of chain basicness and banality.

I was by that building today, and it looks like it still has 4 floors to go.
The rendering for the taller building shows 41 floors above the platform. It now has 37

Not supposed to let this out but chipotle has an LOI out on the west space. Exciting to see Brickell finally get some chains instead of all the “local” garbage along south Miami ave

I agree we need more established chains like Chipotle, Five Guys, and Starbucks. Also, The Cheesecake Factory, California Pizza Kitchen, and Yard House. However, I believe successful local places are crucial. Maybe less burger and crap beer microbreweries, sushi, and Latin restaurants of the same, and more variety.

We definitely need more recognized (normal) chains in Brickell. This will increase customer traffic, which in turn also benefit the local restaurants and retailers. I’ve seen many restaurants come and go in the past 8 years (e.g. Grimpa, Perfecto, Inka, Deli Lane).
