Photos: Construction Progress At Brightline’s Aventura Station, Opening Fall 2022

In Aventura, a Brightline station is moving closer to completion, photos show.

According to a report to investors issued by Brightline last week, the Aventura station is on track for completion in Fall 2022.

Passenger escalators have now been installed inside the new station, with elevators expected to be delivered in July.

Finishes including tiling, lighting, window frames and much of the glass will be installed in the coming weeks, Brightline said.

Structural work for a vertical transportation tower, which will allow passengers to go from the station to the bridge level, is largely complete.

A concrete pour for the northern platform has been completed, and installation of canopies at the platform is now underway.

Brightline has already completed construction of the two mainline track shifts that were needed to make room for the station platform construction. They also completed 95% of the necessary fiber relocations at the site.

A pedestrian bridge crossing Biscayne Boulevard to the Aventura Mall property is planned but not yet under construction.

Travel time for express trains from Aventura to downtown Miami will be 15 minutes. A regional rail service with more stops is also planned.

Because of Brightline’s shenanigans – I hope you comprehend that.

SFRTA's investor

Brightline failed to deliver according to contract and have refused to fix it after being paid $70 million. If SFRTA were a private company or just competent, they would have sued.

I was just by there this weekend looks great! Hopefully they run trains there every fifteen minutes. The densely populated northeast corridor can use the frequency.

Construction began September 3 2020. It will take more than 2 years to construct.
Melo can complete a 60 story building in less than 2 years.
The Empire State building was done in less than 1 year.

People didn’t trespass on Melo or the Empire State Building construction sites and fall off, triggering a lengthy OSHA review. Same logic with MESNA recipients crossing the tracks when barriers are down or through unauthorized areas.

Why does Brightline insist on using the same awful architecture on all its stations in South Florida? If not already, they’re aging badly.

well the rest of us are satisfied with current design. & Tampa till look the exact same way. Maybe they’ll remodel for you in 10-15 years.

Regretfully , but the ” Big picture plan ” is still nowhere ,bits and pieces ,stumbling ,nobody knows ,huge investment and a lot of guessing. No Disney either. Hate to be this confused.

You’re enjoying your day, everything’s going your way, then along comes Debbie Downer! Always there to tell you about a new disease, a car accident, or killer bees. You beg her to spare you, ‘DEBBIE…PLEASE!!’ But you can’t stop Debbie Downer!!

He’s saying there isn’t a clear regional rail/light rail system. And he’s right. Excited about the north/south options but if you want to go *anywhere* else there’s nothing

Don’t blame Brightline….blame ourselves for electing the politicians that have no vision at all or too much personal interest.

maybe a Key West, Naples or Fort Myers station in the works in 5 years for that East-West commute?
