Photos: Fencing Being Installed At Fairholme Museum Site In Edgewater

Installation of a fence at the Fairholme Museum site was underway as of last week.

It doesn’t appear that there are any construction permits filed for the property.

The project was approved in Summer 2015, after complaints from Fairholme over a slow review process.

Just noticed the private property sign here this morning and wondered what this was. Completely forgot about this project, but am excited for it. Big hedge fund and priceless (errr, pricey) art in the ‘hood? Where do I bring the pie?

Great museum for Edgewater.

They need to keep the “One Way” art installment on the property. LOL
Very clever!

First piece of art for the museum…would definitely be worthy of a display in PAMM

This section of Biscayne Blvd. will be very nice once all the new buildings and museum is finished.

NE 2nd Avenue needs reconstruction.. from 36 street to Arts & Enter. district.

Berkowitz is a joker. I don’t see this museum getting built at all as much as I would like for it to be built.

It’s a beautiful building in a beautiful location. Unfortunately, that chain link fence will be there for a decade or more. Things just crawl in Miami

Berkowitz doesn’t have any money after betting a fortune on Fannie Mae and the Sears. This will be flipped for a rental tower.

Since Election Day, Fannie and Freddie preferred shares have rallied between 107% and 220%, causing Fairholme’s main fund to surge 30% and its quarter billion dollar Fairholme Focused Income and Fairholme Allocation funds to rise 14% and 21%, respectively.

Doesn’t matter. These funds sucked for such a long time, and lost so much capital to withdrawals that this dead cat bounce changes little. There will be no museum, period. This fence will be covered in “For sale” signs, that why it’s being put up.
