Windows are now being installed at a hotel under construction in the Midtown Miami and Edgewater area.

AC Hotel by Marriott Midtown Miami will include 153 rooms in a seven-story building. There will also be a restaurant and bar, rooftop pool, fitness center and meeting rooms.

Foundation work began in June 2018 after the developer received a $21.3 million construction loan.

Kobi Karp is the architect. Karp’s office is just blocks away.

Nice additional to the area and soon Biscayne blvd from the 836 to 36st will be lined with projects all over three floors.

I wish stuff were taller, but not so tall to the extent that it makes NIMBYs sound reasonable. Something like the gentrifying Grand Concourse in the Bronx, with buildings like City 24 in height and scale.

I used to live in that apartment building in the second photo, but I moved out when they started construction of the Hampton Inn behind it. She’d seen better days but the rent was 980 for a 2/1 and my unit was “updated”. I wonder what’s next for the property with all the developments in the area.

Probably going to be a hotel soon. And I also have $900 and live not far from that area. Never understood why people on this site complain so much about rent when they’re plenty of options. They just want to live beyond their means and expect to live in Icon Brickell.

Plenty of options? Dude, move out and see how fast somebody snatches up the place you’re in now.

Lol, so true. My rent is $2,500 and I’m in Weston 😂

Actually my building has a handful of units for rent and they’re plenty of available units throughout Miami, y’all just expect to be walking out of Icon Brickell and lease a BMW

“There will also be a restaurant and bar.”

Can’t wait to try them out.

Continue development until it reaches all the way down to 22nd Ave.

is it in Midtown or Edgewater or Beverly Terrace?

Yes

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I hate that “Beverly Terrace” is still labeled so on Google maps. WTF is a Beverly Terrace?

It’s a terrace named Beverly. She was a big to-do in that area. Loved her and miss her.

The “Beverly Terrace Historic District” is basically those two handsome apartment houses flanking 33rd Street. I wish the entire blocks where they sit were redeveloped into something of comparable architecture, incorporating the historic buildings in the development seamlessly and reused as restaurant, clubhouse, and/or office space, unlike the monstrosity also known as 2500 Biscayne which envelopes the Wolpert Apartments.
