Monad Terrace broke ground in South Beach a year ago.

Yesterday, the 3rd floor deck was installed, according to contractor G.T. McDonald Enterprises.

The project features 59 residential units, surrounded by a manmade lagoon. Two buildings will rise 14 and 7 stories high.

Jean Nouvel is the design architect, with Kobi Karp architect of record.

A live construction camera is available here.

Miami Beach gets the good innovative designs. We get the quasi, pseudo mediterranean or the gallavanting balconies on square boxes with no crown on either design.
