Photos: Midtown 8 Nearly Topped Off At 28 Stories

Midtown 8 is about to top off.

The project is bringing 387 rental apartments to Midtown Miami, along with 29,549 square feet of new retail space on the ground floor.

A parking garage appears to rise eight or nine levels, and includes 519 spaces.

Stantec is the architect.

There was discussion earlier about this project having a grocery store in the base..any news on that? Area could easily support a Whole Foods or Trader Joes.

Yes, the area will support the Walmart across the street.

Walmart ?? Yeah…keep on dreaming bud. That’s not gonna happen in midtown. Those plans have been tangled in the legal system for too long and won’t end up happening so don’t get your hopes up…

Likewise.. don’t think those frivolous tactics will stall project forever.

Wont stall a “project” on this parcel but will definitely prevent a stupid Walmart to come to fruition in this prime site and location. -There’s WAY too many people against it starting with the Wynwood/Midtown/Design District/Edgewater business owners and residents…FACT.

Is the trend to build the garage separately so it’ll be easier to tear it down in a few years when private car ownership plummets?

Wow come to think about it, that makes perfect sense.

That huge parking garage is very visible from NE 2nd ave. Such a shame that more and more parking which encourages driving keeps being built in the area.

Do you people have these same tired and worn out remarks in a folder somewhere in your computers and all you do is wait for TNM’s new articles so you can regurgitate and cut/paste the same crap over and over and over and over and………….?

Where do you park your car at night?

OK, when Uber/Lyft, flying cars, and MetroBus (just kidding) have made parking garages obsolete, I’ll be happy to convert my parking spot to a storage space.

Do they own the old soccer fields that were on the south side of this building? They were always busy and its a shame they’re no longer there, but this building is in a great area and will definitely add value to the neighborhood just hope it’s affordable relatively speaking.
