I live in a building around the Arena and I really REALLY hope they will paint the roof white. The metal finish they have now reflects the sun so much I can’t even look out of my windows without being blinded by it!

Another related news is that there are no longer homēless in Ferrè Park and instead there is a great exhibit.

Can you still fry an egg of the ground?

The homeless problem started on 5/1/19 when Joe Carollo ended private security. When he reinstated security in October, the homeless problem went away. Thank you Joe for FINALLY doing your job….what took you so long? . Now could you replace the rusted trash cans?!

I’m guessing it will be illuminated. Any more news?

Anon

Illuminated? I don’t think so. Those letters are opaque black.

Yes they’re opaque black. I’m sure however a backlight will be implemented

Anon

I saw the letters before they installed them. There were small light bulbs at the bottom

Is the FTX Arena greeting a soccer field and workout equipment behind it?

The plane logo is more iconic

Anonymous

You are just more used to it

Anon

No, it’s a better logo. The FTX logo is hideous.

So sue us, because we’ll all still call it “Triple A” just like we call Ferrè Park “Museum Park” and Chicagoans call the Willis Tower “Sears Tower.”

Anonymous

I’m sure some people even older than you still call that park Bicentennial Park…

Anonymous

Museum Park? You’re not a real Miamian then. We still call it Bicentennial Park.

The names are for advertising purposes and corporations have to pay every year to have these sports arenas named and their logs used that represents their businesses.

Name change within 18 months. FTX won’t be around much longer

Anonymous

Yep, their whole business depended on crypto succeeding and it’s obviously not ever since crashing to all time lows over a year ago. The crypto and NFT hype bubble has long burst and most of the companies involved in that are now drowning in lawsuits over all the money that’s disappeared

I like it. Now all that’s left is for the coins to rise again. Will it be?

I wouldn’t hold your breath

That roof should be turned in a rooftop observatory. It would be amazing.

so much non sense

Anonymous

About as much sense as reviving Skyrise and expanding Metromover for miles in their current forms.

Don’t forget “Tear down I-95 because I think it’s ugly” and “use eminent domain for a bay walk to be used by 6 bums and two dog walkers”

about as much as forbidding parking in any and all downtown developments, and extending the Metromover to the beach and to Wynwood free for all

You’re free to use UBER, LYFT, and buses to get to Miami Beach, no one will stop you. If the Metromover gets extended, trust me, it won’t be free.

Looks awful. Wish it was a green roof.

Myamy

It could have been both… they can still install a green roof underneath the sign.

anonymous

unfortunately i doubt the roof can withstand the weight of a green roof. (wish it could) they had to add extra support for the barclays center’s.

Anon

It could 100% lichen, like the Javits Center in NY.

**100% support
