Photos Of 43-Story Luma Miami Worldcenter Beginning Vertical Construction

At the 43-story Luma Miami Worldcenter residential tower, vertical construction began last month following an August foundation pour.

The tower will have a permanent height of 493 feet above ground, or 503 feet above sea level when complete. Temporary cranes will be installed during construction at 586 feet above ground.

Luma is being developed by Zom Living and The Moinian Group.

It will include 434 ultra-luxury apartment rentals, in a tower designed by architect Stantec.

These photos taken last month show massive amount of steel being put into place:

Cranes are already installed and they are way further along than these photos show.

Melo buildings are infamously poor quality. Can we please stop hyping them up?

Not when you consider the pre-construction process.

If they put fences up along the RR tracks that would make a good corridor for bars on the ground floor… no vision in Miami

Those railroad tracks would be excellent for light rail.

Or extension of Metromover

Metrorail or Brightline/Virgin, considering the direction of the tracks. Probably the latter for their cruise extension, hopefully extended to SoBe.

i was hoping Brightline would put commercial space in the huge ramp they built to take trains from grade to +50′ in the station. Obviously on the west side, opposite the tracks, would be the outdoor seating.

Tracks could also be elevated to the height of Miami Central to eliminate the absurdity of grade crossings in the middle of downtown. Then outdoor bars etc. underneath.

I can’t wait until it’s completed.

Actually, I don’t mind the building, but I wish STANTEC would’ve came up with a better design.
