Even if you don’t like the idea of protecting the Tequesta sites (and you should!), the city should hold the developers accountable for what they promised to do in protecting this site. In my opinion, developers often tell the city one thing and then do whatever they want. This is a broader issue than just this project too. I can name several examples of the developers not living up to their promises and what they’re required to do by code/law.

I have no feelings one way or the other about protecting the Tequesta site. What I do think however is if the city is going to protect it, they should do it the right way and enclose the entire circle with glass, the way it was originally planned. The way it looks now is like a fountain that was never finished. Leaving it open is just dumb, think what will happen the next time we get a hurricane and this whole area floods.

Why should you care?… you’ll still have your “brand spanking new” theaters to go to!

Maybe they didn’t install the glass floor yet?

Ay least this developer did not took 24 millions dollars from the tax payers and we ended up with a “dog park” like happened with the Tequesta Circle across the River!
At least this Tequesta site will be available for the people to see, ( pretty or not) the more expensive one, that got pay by the citizens of Miami still after twenty something years a crappy park that few people with dogs enjoy and now is also an Uber hang about !!!

And at the time, the Miami Circle site was supposed to become the site for the tallest building in Miami. The developer got paid almost triple what he paid for the site and road off into the sunset like a bandit without sticking a shovel in the ground.

24 millions the developer got paid, I wonder how much went to Alex Penelas and other politicians ….. and it wouldn’t be so sad if at least the site were a real archeological exhibition and no a doggy Park!!!
My golden doodle loves to play there while I seat in a big stone and look at the signs that say… Tequesta circle!

I would love to see a hot tub there.

That Tequesta Circle is the most uninspired exhibit of archaeology/history ever! It says a lot of how we view our local heritage.

What Miami does have is a bunch of folks Anonymously complaining and never actually contributing.

The important part is that the site was preserved. And however it was sheltered, it is done.

Um yeah, sure… if you don’t mind your hard earned tax dollars going toward preserving and maintaining BS like this, I do!

Most Miamians have never been to or seen this Miami Circle crap.

Because is covered with grass and is now a hangout for Uber drivers and dogs to play
The city has done nothing in 20 years to make the circle available to the public

Yeah… Miami is slowly becoming the “Manhattan of the South!”

Shame the glass curtain doesn’t wrap around, and the tower looks cheap and nasty, even compared to Monarc.

So you want some kind of stupendously expensive and architectural designed building built over and circling something that even these pictures show is basically just a bunch of nothing?

Yeah, you would, as long as it’s not your money.

I’m talking about the pedestal of the building. The circle should have been in an atrium or something as part of the lobby.

At first I was excited but now I’m not a fan of these eat in luxury theatres. Its very annoying to watch a good movie and having waiters ruin it. I usually order my food as quickly as I can. However people around me take their sweet time and it’s very distracting. I rather eat before the movie and go to a regular theater. Some regular ones now have leather reserved seats.
