Photos: Sugar, The 40th Floor Rooftop Lounge At Brickell City Centre

Sugar, a spectacular rooftop lounge, is now open on the 40th floor of the East Hotel at Brickell City Centre.

Rooftop bars are hugely popular in Asia, and Hong Kong-based Swire Properties has imported the concept to Miami and improved upon it.

My business partners and I went there last week. We had cocktails and appetizers in a beautiful sunny afternoon. Michael the manager was very nice and mentioned he had worked at Sugar in Hong Kong before coming to Miami. The drink and the appetizers are both very small but quite good. The view and the ambiance is amazing! The music is not too loud and very chilled. We will definitely go back.

Pricing? Either to get in or for the food/drink.

We did not pay anything to get in but it might be different at night, not sure.
The price for the drinks and the appetizers are not bad, between 10 and 20 dollars for each item, but like I mentioned early they are both quite small.

Bar menu includes some Asian items and some more not. The calamari was good as was the other items we had. Food is good but I have to agree with the comment above the portions are small.

I see some of you asking but why would you be charged entry to a restaurant/lounge? I understand if was strictly a club or maybe just a lounge.

Great place, finally a classy rooftop lounge with nice decor, quality music and courteous staff. Reminiscent of Standard High Line for those who are fans like myself. Highly recommend.
Food at Quinto la Huella on 5th floor still needs work though.

Agreed…the restaurant was a subpar experience.

Food at Quinto is horrible. That restaurant is a work in progress.

Man, entering that elevator high on coke or any other drugs is going to be scary. LOL

Looks nice. Whats the capacity? Cant really gauge the size through the pics. I have some clients flying in on Friday. Maybe a nice spot to stop by.

The landscape takes up much of the space so small. But totally worthwhile. Breathtaking views.

Food: Asian tapas. Small but amazing.

I don’t think the roof top would accommodate more than 50 to 75 people.

I especially like the elevator interior design. I suppose that’s an “infinity elevator” to take one up to the infinity pool?

This place could have been nice and unique, instead they went with the same club music and typical Miami club vibe as all other places. Not going back
