Photos: Wall Of Glass At Biscayne Boulevard’s Newest 49-Story Tower, Society

Biscayne Boulevard’s new wall of glass at the 49-story Society Biscayne is nearing completion, new photos show.

Society Biscayne will include a 12-story First United Methodist Church at the base of the tower with its own separate entrance, directly behind the glass.

The church will include a chapel, a fellowship hall, classrooms, offices, a basketball court, and a 3-story sanctuary with views of Biscayne Bay. The total church area is about 25,000 square feet.

Developer PMG is building the church as a replacement for First United Methodist’s building that once stood on the same property.

Society Biscayne is set to open this summer.

PMG is now exploring the potential sale of condo units allowing short-term rentals at the 639-unit Society, and is accepting non-binding reservations.

Major downgrade, not only is the glass reduced in size which eliminates the tasteful design. But the blue sliver of glass is not even stained glass as shown in the render.I mean there’s literally a church in there, I was really looking forward to the stained glass.

I called it how many years ago? That Glass façade is not possible in Miami.
Knew they would never be able to achieve anything like the renderings showed.

It’s a pretty mediocre tower for Biscayne Boulevard with a meh base. What did you expect?

the architect and contractor’s hands are tied if the developer doesn’t to spend the money to realize the architect’s vision. this is why Miami’s skyline will always be more quantity than quality. out of the cities i’ve been to in the U.S. Miami’s skyline isn’t even in the top five for aesthetics or finishes

Value engineered to death. I’m hoping there is some sort of lighting element or decal added to the glass that achieves the effect they were illustrating in the renders.

What do you expect from the same developer who took the crown off of X Miami?

What’s amazing is they want 1.3 million for a 2 bedroom…😂. It looks really cheap inside.

I will give an “a” for effort. i think in some ways they discovered the “true” design during the development phase and came away with some things that were unexpectedly better than the original renderings and some things that fell short of the original renderings probably due to cost and the ability of the glazing contractor and also probably due to building code. guess what? that’s called “design” it’s a process not a destination. Give them credit for trying, not every body takes a risk.

An attractive building. Nice of PMG to include the church in the development. 😇

PMG is installing another crappy kite on the side of the building that is going to blow away in the first storm.

It would be nice if they could be a responsible company and replace the one on X Miami and maybe learn not to install this on future rojects.

Non sesual with it

I’m glad I’m not the only one to be so disappointed with this building. The renderings were so deceiving.

I just knew the were going to half-ass this. They couldn’t even execute on Brickell “shitty” centre. Just had to slap that hideous blotch of stucco on the side of the east hotel…could have been gorgeous.

Design and hire a contractor to create a building of yours that actually delivers. I’ll wait.

I have my own designs of buildings that I created, or plan on creating, what do you mean? I’m actually considering a career in Architecture while you’re just commenting.

“I’m actually considering a career in Architecture”

Well, put up or shut up.. then you’ll see what people say and think about your designs.

“They just had to go for the cheaper way out” is just the same ole tired criticism we hear from people over and over and over on this site.
