Photos: X Miami Hands Out Protection At Ultra; Rents Start In $1200s

Ultra Music Festival took place directly in front of the under-construction X Miami apartment tower, and the developers took the opportunity to do some marketing by distributing branded condoms.

The 464-unit building opens this fall. Rents start in the $1,200s, according to signs posted in front.

Developer PMG is targetting millennials with micro-units and a high level of amenities, including a pool deck “that makes Vegas hotels blush.” PMG is also building a similar project at the Las Olas Riverfront site in Fort Lauderdale.

These guys are out here handing out condoms to 18 year olds on drugs to lease cheap units in a brand new building, and we expect them to build a 94 story luxury skyscraper? Yikes.

I’ll bet on Hollo or BCC getting Miami it’s first 1000 footer

Adding new products to their portfolio to hedge against condo market fluctuations….this is called “diversification.” Read a book.

Common Sense….clearly not so common

Most people there are not 18 years old and it isn’t exactly cheap to go to Ultra so I think they are just trying to appeal to their audience grandpa…

Clearly this group is “basic af,” cocky NY finance/developer guys that think obnoxious, low class marketing is so Miami.

The parents who cut these expensive rent checks will probably tell kids to go elsewhere when parents do a simple google search to see where kid wants to live. Not many parents is gonna support an extension of a frat house at those rents.

Developer(s) profile seems like the type of guy with a gorgeous housewife at home, and flys to Miami for business meetings, followed by “client relations” at e11even. Probably went to a top-tier undergrad/grad biz program in NE and is “gonna crush it” in Miami.

As someone who is in the millennial generation, why the hell would I want to live in a place that brands my condoms? Honestly, this “millennial branding” trend needs to stop, we want the same exact things as old people–reasonable price, good quality–we don’t want Trojan Airlines and Durex SUV’s

You dont want Trojan Airlines? Seems like less responsibility than Virgin Airlines.

Gotta give it to the Developer…

A) Very Original Marketing strategy they Pulled there
B) Tacky and low class AF

Don’t know about the rest of you but I wouldn’t wanna live in a building where all the units are the size of a walk-in closet with smelly, sweaty and obnoxious 18-24 year old neighbors…Hope they do build the tower though so all these young kids can have a small closet to call home.

2/3rd of Ultra’s clientele can’t afford it anyway, unless mommy and daddy in Kendall pay the rent.

My wife pointed out a group of kids at Momi Ramen. Clearly from an Asian country. One wearing an $800 T-shirt and Hermes sandles, the others were affluent too. Many Ultra attendees can rent wherever they want.

I guess they’re not CROWN condoms, which this building lacks and looks like another box compared to the renderings.

I hope one of the condoms breaks and somehow there’s a lawsuit against the developer.

You’re not a Public or Standard hotel, these are supposed to be Residences lol.

Sad to see this. The promulgation of the idea that condom use protects us is not only deceptive; it encourages a lifestyle that leads to sorrow and perhaps even death.

Had everyone reserved sex until marriage, and if spouses remained faithful, then we would not have so many sexually transmitted diseases. Condoms for example can’t protect people from the HPV which causes almost all cases of cervical cancer and kill more women than Aids. Only a return to a chaste life can stop these diseases or, in the case of those already infected, contain them. Such chastity is within God’s plan for the human race.

Although it pales in comparison to how many people have been murdered in the name of your imaginary “God”. Wrong site for this garbage, loannes. Move along.

Hi there, indeed the other sin of murder is an awful thing whether commited by believers or non-believing persons, groups or governments. It pains God to see mankind choose to sin instead of choosing to love, but please know that God loves you infinitely and can make up for any suffering whether in this life or the next. I feel your frustration and pain, so I invite you join the good side in the fight against sin. In regards to the site, it’s TNM that considered this newsworthy, therefore there’s nothing inherently wrong with the free exchange of ideas and reactions to it. May God continue to Bless you.

I mean, if you really want to cater to millennials, there is your target right there, and if the condoms break there is an quick, onsite solution!
