Photos: Yacht Show Held At Resorts World Miami After Organizer Donates $150k Towards Baywalk

Over Presidents Day Weekend, Resorts World Miami hosted the Miami Yacht Show.

This was the first year the event was held in downtown Miami. The show formerly took place annually in Miami Beach.

According to a tweet from commissioner Ken Russel, organizers of the event donated $150,000 towards the bay walk. The funds will go towards construction of a path to the Resorts World site from Museum Park (now renamed Maurice Ferre Park) underneath the I-395 Signature Bridge.

Hopefully this will happen very soon as a result of public demand and developer demand (presumably a big selling point to have a long running/walking route along the water, just outside their buildings)

Does this mean they will open the Baywalk along their property now as well?

It is about time, the large concrete pads they poured in order to host events, as well as the demolition of the Herald building, should have triggered the Law requiring them to build/allow the Baywalk on the property.

Insulting amount of money but Commissioner Selfie Boy loves to have his picture taken.

$150k won’t even pay for the permitting for the section on this site.

Have you ever seen people come on this site and say “Miami doesn’t need yachts?”

Good News. Finally someone is talking about connecting Museum Park with Herald site. Do it now and not in a few years. In another good news, I see activity in Pace park. They cordoned off the south east corner and I suspect they are building the bay walk in Women’s club to connect Pace Park with Sea Isle Marina. Please confirm if anyone knows more on this.

You mean people wont be forced to take metro mover stops from the bus terminal to the pedestrian locked museum station?
