Plans For Canvas Tower Submitted To FAA; Sales Center To Open Next Week

Developers of the 36-story Canvas Tower have submitted their plans to the FAA for review.

Canvas is slated to rise to a height of 434 feet above sea level, or 414 feet above ground.

The 513-unit project is the beneficiary of a $9 million subsidy from the Omni Community Redevelopment Agency. Construction is scheduled to begin in March.

A pre-construction sales center designed by Urban Robot Associates will open next week.

not going to win any beauty contest, but that area needs residents and people walking around so that the homeless and putas go somewhere else.

Exactly! I will do my best to sell as many units as I can. This whole area has to get better!

I don’t know, but are my eyes playing tricks on me, I mean to me, the rendering in picture 2 looks slightly different in design than 1 and 3. Anyway, I’ve been waiting for buildings like this to appear in this quadrant, meaning three to four to five blocks west of Biscayne Blvd. I believe the quicker we see more of these residential structures go up on those and other empty weed strewn lots going north, the faster we can get the ball rolling on a metromover expansion.

I currently live at the Filling Station Lofts (awesome building), just 1 block away. This is a much needed project for the area–sometimes I feel like I’m on the set of Walking Dead.

If you bought at the Filling Station it was a great investment. Melody, Estefan’s Kitchen, 14 Plaza, and Canvas will reshape that part of town. Not to mention Miami World Center just to the south and what ever goes where Bayview Market was supposed to be built. Five years from now no one will recognize this neighborhood.

Hard to buy at a rental building.

Glad to see everyone agrees that its not a master piece but that area needs it, and the tower Gloria Estefan will build will also help.

What a crappy looking building

Rendering 1 looks acceptable, rendering 3 would look much better with demolition equipment nearby.
