Plans Submitted For Artist Workforce Housing In Miami Beach

Miami Beach is set to consider plans to build a residential building with affordable housing for artists.

The building will also serve as a dormitory for Miami City Ballet students.

Developer Servitas, which was awarded the right to build the project, hired architect Shulman and Associates to design the building.

The 7-story building will also have ground floor retail and a small rooftop deck.

The Miami Beach Historic Preservation Board is set to review the plans on June 15.

Different City but yes, Little Havana is terrible. People are nasty for dumping trash everywhere and the City of Miami did not care.

“Artist workforce housing” sounds like an oxymoron.

Great project. Let’s hope that approvals come quickly. This project along with project at 1260 Washington hopefully signal a new direction for the beach. We cannot have another winter/spring as we had in 2021. Need to fill convention with strong events through 2022 & finally end the spring break madness.

They should have used an artist or someone with creativity to design the building.

It looks like the downtown jail!

It’s affordable, what do you expect? Still, the dubious HPB better send these people back to the drawing board.

You make a good point. Why the prison sized windows facing a wide street. It makes no sense. There should be large windows and maybe balconies facing 23rd street not bathroom sized windows and blank walls.

Because ballerinas like privacy when they are in their apartments.

Social welfare for Miami City Ballet students and so-called artists. MCB does absolutely nothing for Miami Beach except ask for handouts at every opportunity. They don’t even perform on Miami Beach and call themselves MIAMI City Ballet. At least change your name to Miami Beach City Ballet.
