Proposal For 1,049 Foot Brickell Tower Filed With FAA Last Week

A proposal has been filed with the Federal Aviation Administration for a Brickell tower at a potential supertall height.

According to the August 25 filing with the agency, a tower is proposed to rise at 1,044 feet above ground, or 1,049 feet above sea level.

The location of the newly filed FAA proposal is at 1210 Brickell Avenue, where the 76-story Ora by Casa Tua condo tower is planned.

In May, plans for Ora by Casa Tua were submitted to Miami’s Urban Development Review Board, showing a height of 930 feet above ground (it’s not clear why there is a discrepancy in the proposed height).

The board voted 5-0 at the May meeting to recommend approval of the project.

It doesn’t appear that there are any demolition or construction permits in pending with Miami’s Building Department yet for the site.

Ora getting a height increase! Another beaut by Arquitectonica!

I hope the height increase doesn’t diminish the elegant curvature of the original design, otherwise it will not be a beaut.

Can’t wait to see Brickell once it’s southern portion is built out!

Yes “southern portion” like the “western portion” 😘

The part blocks north of 1450 Brickell, Echo, and the Four Seasons…yeah…that will be great.

Perfect project for Brickell. Minimal parking podium exposure, true mixed use with over 50,000 sq ft of office space, live greenery, and different concrete slab design. And it also has parking for over 1,000 bikes!

“showing a height of 930 feet”
Remember there are no supertalls yet even with over a dozen proposed, and likely none under construction yet if Waldorf got it’s requested 300′ cut. OBP has been simmering along for nearly the whole 21st century now, and OBCC is 298 meters, only 300 if counting from sea level, less than 1,000 ft nonetheless.
Because of the airport, taller buildings can be farther easy along the more desirable waterfront anyway, so if the coastal buildings are cut, there can’t be many higher tiered buildings inland behind them. Sorry Mr. Singapore guy, we can’t put our supertalls inland like Chicago and NYC…

Not true. Plenty of clearance for airport. Super talls going up as far west as I95. Air patterns can change, and it’s more valuable to be a little inland with views of water but not directly on water where it floods.

#1 air patterns CANNOT be easily changed
#2 Waterfront is more valuable than inland no matter what reason you have for saying different

1 necessary
2 true for single family homes, not necessarily high rises

The WTC used to be right on the Hudson River until land reclamation for Battery Park, and some of Chicago’s tallest buildings, proposed and built, are along Lake Michigan anyway.

I know the article you’re referring to. No where in it does it say the building height has been reduced. It’s still marked as over 1000′. Most of the units are sold, including the penthouse.

The crane heights mentioned are causing confusion. I’m assuming that crane 3 will be mounted on top of the uncompleted structure once cranes 1 & 2 have done most of the work.

You should.
There are plenty of available properties to buy. WE can (and by “we” I mean, you) build supertalls inland.

y’all getting excited like these buildings will be done anytime soon. For example Aston Martin Tower was planned in what? 2015? Sold units in 2016? “topped off” in 2021 and still not completed. None of these buildings will be up until 7-10 years from now. Who knows where we’ll all be by then.

We will be here. Property values will double, and quality of life will be exponentially improved. Not sure where you will be, but hope you stay so you can tell the story of Miamis growth with us.

Gee you mean they don’t get put up in 10 months like 2 story Lennar townhouses outside of Homestead? Go figure.

Remember their Country Walk development? Didn’t meet building codes and inspectors did drive-by inspections. Lennar got away with it after Hurricane Andrew.

Wrong. Country Walk was built by Arvida.

Apparently they will all be done in under 5 years, with the Riverwalk completed end to end as well. lmao the delusion

Dude it’s doesn’t even take 5 years. This area has all it needs to go up in less time than that.

Youre talking about developers. I’m talking about the city. They will drag their ass like they have for the past 50 years.
