Just three months after launching service from Doha to Miami, Qatar Airways is increasing service on the route.
A fifth weekly flight will begin on Monday November 17. As with all Qatar flights to MIA, it will be operated with ultra-long-haul capable 777-200LR, of which less than 60 have ever been produced.
MIA is aiming for a fourth consecutive year of record-breaking in 2014. Other upcoming milestones include:
October 2: new daily nonstop service to Cap-Haitien, Haiti (American Airlines)
October 27: Increased capacity on Miami-Zurich to double daily (Swiss)
December 1: Upgrade of Miami-Paris flights to A380 (Air France)
December 2: New daily nonstop service to Campinas, Brazil (American Airlines)
December 2: Nonstop Miami-Munich flights begin for the first time in years (Lufthansa)
December 16: Nonstop Miami-Helsinki flights begin for the first time in years (Finnair)
Service to London will also see increases from all three airlines flying the route. Virgin Atlantic has announced plans to add a second daily flight this winter. American will fly the route 17 times weekly including a higher capacity 777-300er flight, while British Airways recently extended a 17 weekly flight schedule into May of 2015.
