Radio Tower Behind Herald Building To Be Removed In July

The radio tower behind the Herald building will be removed next month.

The tower had served as a backup transmitter for WQAM, an AM radio station. Beasley Reed is the owner of the station.

In October, Miami commissioners approved a resolution authorizing the City Attorney ‘to take all actions authorized in law and equity against Beasley Reed and the occupants of the City’s submerged lands adjacent to One Herald Plaza.’

Removal of the tower is scheduled to begin on July 7th and end on July 28th.
