Related Group May Be Planning Project Called The Gallery At Omni

Related Group may be in the planning stages for a new development called The Gallery at Omni.

Last month, the developer registered several companies that include The Gallery at Omni name, state records show.

A representative of the developer also visited Miami officials last month requesting a Zoning Verification letter for a property at 1598 Northeast 1st Avenue.

In 2015, a project called Museum Club Miami was approved for the site, including a hotel with a shooting and archery range. The new ZVL request hints that those plans will be scrapped.

The property is directly across the street from the under-construction Canvas condo tower.

The Omni area is going to come alive with all the new projects under construction.. incredible neighborhood change from just 5 years ago.

I hope it’s stays reasonably affordable for the next generation of local young professionals.

affordable is so overrated,It promotes complacency. Usually the people who want “affordable” are losers who are afraid of working hard and prefer the government fill in the gaps of their failure. I prefer expensive, it tends to weed out the lazy and attracts “aspirational” people. We need more “aspirational” type people not some entitled hipster living off some government handout or some BS knight foundation grant. Give me the winners.

Not all people with good paying jobs want to throw all of their money away into an overpriced luxury condo. Many prefer something more reasonably priced so they can use their money living life, entertainment, traveling, and saving for the future.

Exactly.

Let’s see, live downtown…or live somewhere that is 10k/yr less expensive? I am an educated professional making a good living. I choose not to spend that *additional* 10k on rent.

HA! they’ve been saying the omni area is “going to” be the next big thing since the 1960’s! it will never happen! Omni is nothing more that an glorified off ramp.

more coffee shops and less nail/spa/furniture/realty places. Also, jobs, like a proper office tower.

The Omni’s dead and its namesake should be buried out of embarrassment. Call it something to evoke the “Arts & Entertainment District” classification or historic neighborhood name of “Town Square.”

There are way too many neighborhoods in such a small area–A&E, Omni, Edgewater, Wynwood, and Midtown all in an area that should be one or two neighborhoods.

Not really.

Um, pretty sure Brickell is as big as or bigger than those neighborhoods combined…

I believe you are missing the commenter’s point. Brickell only has one name. This small area is known by 5 names… a bit confusing.
