I heard they are in talks to open an Apple store that will be designed as a stand-alone building and another food market that could even be Eataly or Le District depending on how La Centrale does. They also want to add to movie theaters or a bowling alley but nothing clear yet. As far as an anchor department store, they are still targeting to have one, and apparently would be one that is not even currently open in the country.

Floor agents at Paramount used to say there was a British department store interested in opening downtown…Harrods with its food hall would have been nice, then i heard it is actually a Chinese department store the one opening as part of this project so i don’t even know what’s the latest on this.
I know they approached Eataly but they are not currently opening in Miami. Word on the street is that Dean and Delucca is going to the Design District on the base of a condo project that hasn’t been advertised yet. But the people behind Chelsea Market and some dudes from the food network where requesting floor plans for the retail portion.
Buddakan is going to open on the hotel portion with another restaurant by Jean Georges.

I like how the shot with the cover shows the emergence of the Paramount. This may not be a perfect development but it will certainly change the spirit of the area. Once this area is completely built out, Edgewater, Midtown, Coconut Grove will pick up from there and get built out.

As long as they’re developing and covering these empty weed strewn lots with something, it’s a “perfect” development to me!

Will it offer an elevated connection to Metromover?

When does this retail open? Fall 2018?

More like the level 3 pour of the garage that has some retail on the ground floor. They are also only doing one half right now. No need for elevated access to metromover unless you park there to use it which is unlikely since the vacant lots offer cheap parking.

This retail project is going to have air conditioning and not a ribbon that brings heat and humidity from outside
