The new luxury apartment building will be developed on 2.14-acre lot 6, South of Midtown 5
MIAMI, FL – May 23, 2016 – Magellan Development Group and Midtown Development, the same joint venture behind Midtown 5, are bringing another addition to Midtown Miami with the development of Midtown 6, a 32-story luxury mixed-use building.

Midtown 6, originally planned as a tower of 398 condo units in the previous cycle, will feature 447 residential units as well as ground floor retail, following the success of existing retail on Midtown Boulevard.

“We’re looking forward to another successful collaboration with Magellan Development and setting a new standard for luxury apartments in South Florida,” said Alex Vadia, Principal of Midtown Development, the development affiliate of Midtown Opportunities.

Magellan Development Group and Midtown Development are currently developing Midtown 5, a new mixed-use addition to Miami’s Midtown. When complete, it will have 400 luxury apartments, retail and office space. Construction is expected to be completed by end of year 2016. Midtown 5 topped off in April 2016.

Midtown Development is the development affiliate of Midtown Opportunities, a real estate investment company that purchased 22-acres in Midtown Miami in December of 2010. Magellan Development Group is Chicago’s premier real estate development company, responsible for the architecturally iconic Aqua tower in downtown Chicago. Similar design elements of this iconic Chi-town building are present in the design of Midtown 5 and can be seen in its undulating façade with a sculptural quality. Magellan Development Group will break ground this summer on the Wanda Vista, positioned to be Chicago’s newest luxury high-rise and third tallest building in the city.

Designed by Chicago-based bKL Architecture, Midtown 6 is slated to break ground in 2017.

An walmart that close to other big box and smaller retailer stores will leave most of Midtown and North Avenue VACANT. Stop pushing for an walmart because is destroy the area. The lot where walmart is on needs to be development has the rest of midtown. With above residents and retail and office space below. Hopefully related could do something useful and try to halt walmart.

I look forward to walmart being located there. This is just another great retail option for all the neighbors. World class cities need servicing and retail for all levels not just one or the other. This is great infill with lots of good intermixing. Go Midtown!

What a beautiful building to sit right across from a Walmart.

Walmart has been having difficulty. The properties on that block are not legally tied together so they cannot begin construction. Lets hope they never do!

Its sitting across some other middle class stores like tjmax, marshalls, Ross , so I don’t see the difference with Walmart store across from it, that neighborhood is not Ballharbord, Coral Gabled or Brickell
It’s a middle class area with young working people that will benefit with the prices and will bring jobs to the area around that need it so much
I rather has a store affordable and less unemployed people were I live than an expensive Whole Food that sales probably the same stuff for snooty people to by at stratospheric prices!!!

That prime parcel should offer more mixed-use development. Hotel or apartments above dense restaurants and shops.

That parcel is the Southeastern connection from Midtwon to Wynwood, not the funnel pulling people from Wynwood to buy inexpensive things from Walmart.

Yup. Given the large box stores already there, it’s a good location for WalMart.
