Revealed: AMLI Plans 316 Residential Units, Retail Space In Wynwood

AMLI has submitted plans to build an 8-story apartment and retail project in Wynwood.

The developer is fresh off the successful completion this year of a residential complex with 719 apartments in Midtown Miami at the former Chiquita Banana site.

AMLI Wynwood will include:

  • 316 apartments
  • 30,596 square feet of retail/commercial
  • 388 parking spaces
  • Cross block passageway with open courtyard
  • Rooftop pool deck, yoga lawn, dog park, and BBQ area

AMLI paid $35 million for the Wynwood property earlier this year.

The project is set for review before the Wynwood Design Review Committee on December 8.

Arquitectonica is the architect.

Nice to see they’ve incorporated a Pedestrian Paseo connecting 24th & 25th Streets!

Now if only the City would help do the same under the power lines between J. Wakefield & the Charter School, to help connect to 23rd…

Wynwood Arcade is right across the street.. you can walk through there.

While the Arcade pass-thru is helpful, its far too close to N Miami Ave.

The area I mention is more centrally-located between 2nd Ave & N Miami, and could be developed as a pocket park, of which the area currently has none. It’s also closer to the eventual Woonerf starting on 23rd @ NW 1st Place.

It is required for lots that are this wide.

The design is nice! Wynwood keeps on growing and growing. Going to look a lot different in the future.

But, some people don’t want Wynwood to “look a lot different in the future” if that means change.

Change is a constant in this world. Neighborhoods evolve with time, either for better or worse. I say that if the neighborhood is desirable and people are willing to risk their money by investing into it, it is moving in the right direction.

Thanks.. I’ve been trying to explain exactly what you said to people concerning Wynwood on this site but all they keep saying is people moving into these new apartments in Wynwood should keep to themselves when it comes to clubs and bars playing loud music or they should just stay outta Wynwood.

I want more development to head south to 20th Street. I think it will look great with the low rise residential buildings on the Overtown side of 20th St. A historical community next to the hottest neighborhood on the East Coast.

Cool design but only two elevators and no dedicated service elevator, so if one elevator breaks down or one is being used for moving residents, there’s only one elevator?

Anonymous

Yes.. as opposed to no other elevator to use.

Miami keeps scoring wins with these constant new modern buildings added to the Dada County.

This design looks so basic, I’m actually disappointed more than usual with Arquitectonica.
