Revealed: Melo Group’s 710-Unit Square Station Near Arsht Center

Melo Group has revealed plans for a massive apartment project called Square Station near the Arsht Center.

Square Station will include:

  • 34 Floors (twin towers)
  • 710 Residential Units
  • 15,000 Sq Ft of Commercial Space
  • 946 Parking Spaces

Renderings also show a hotel, along with eateries and an art gallery on the ground floor.

Construction will begin in July. The project site is adjacent to the School Board Metromover station, on Northeast 14th Street between Northeast Miami Place and Northeast Miami Court.

Square Station is one of several projects planned in the immediate area. Melo also owns a lot across Northeast 14 Street, and renderings appear to show another building on that site.

good looking project…melo group deserves a lot of credit for jumpstarting areas other folks wont touch ..a project this large is great for that part of town…and yes…they may not build a building like zada’s but not everything built can be iconic…..im content having housing locals can .consider when moving to the city….

I think the best part of this project is that it will be right next to the Metromover. For that alone I am sure the apartments will go like hot cakes!

I think this conversation has been hacked by melo group, …, “areas other folks wont touch”?, .., how about “auberge” twin towers, how about “aria on the bay”, how about …

Auberge has 3 towers if I’m not mistaken. But I get what you’re saying.

maybe youre not aware that this project doesn’t front Biscayne like auberge or that aria on the bay pretty much says it in the title……I think they are referring to how far west this is compared to the 2 you liken it to…..drive by the area….its untouched except for canvas farther north

I like the way the garage is hidden.

Good design and even better street activation. Perfect for jumpstarting the area

It resembles Icon Bay in Edgewater.

Total architectural plagiarism

i like.

Good. fill up the area.

I like it! Good location and the building will have pretty decent view of the bay and downtown.

It seems wavy balconies are the thing of the future.

As far as Melo goes, this one is not too bad. Compared to the horror that is Malady (or is it Melody?), this development is pure Dubai…lol.

As usual, the same complaints from people who think the Melo projects are cheap and ugly. Well, I wish I could dispute both opinions, but a spade is a spade. Having said that Melo builds in areas where other developer’s won’t touch and by doing so improve an area that can eventually attract nicer and better looking projects. So they do serve a purpose, I think this project will be a nice addition to the Omni district.

Looks great but I am not confident the craftsmanship will be good. I drove past each of their properties and the buildings look over 10-20 years old and beat up. The new building going up looks awful. I’ll give them credit, they do complete them rather quickly.

Anonymous

I like it, but there are minor things that they could have easily done to make it just a little bit better. I dislike the solid parapet wrapping the top of the building, should have just continued the language of the balconies with spandrel. Ugh. Moving in the right direction though!

Better than Melody, in a an are in urgent need of revitalization…

Dumpy name, but I’m a Melo fan. For the standard concrete chunk on a parking pedestal, they do it and do it fast and it’s good enough for moderately priced apartments which, uh, Miami NEEDS. There are plenty of much much worse buildings from the bubble era that should never have gone up. These are fine.

it’s too bad they are horrible at managing their properties and they build with cheap materials. Finishes are mediocre. I live in Melody Tower and there is no soundproofing whatsoever. You can hear the trash going down the chute and I’m 2 apartments again from it. Beside that, of you rent a 3-bedroom apartment, you only get one parking spot which is absurd! They have the potential to be great managing their properties since they seem to have taken over Downtown and Edgewater but… they don’t care too much about the paying tenants.

DIRECTLY next to a train and there are still 1000 parking spaces. jesus christ. i hope someone will learn how to convert garages to more residences someday…

Anonymous

I would’ve liked to a see a decrease in parking spaces since its so close to a metromover station. :/

The design is a copy of Related’s Icon Bay, which is already in Edgewater. What about proposing an original design?

Luis Herrera

it appears melo group definitively wants to spoil the arsht center area, …, first melody, now this, …, dont you have any intention to give back to the city melo group?

Anonymous

there is nothing there…

Luis were you fired by the Melo Group? Maybe they ran over your dog.
